Giving Beach Burrito a generous 4 stars since Its more like a 3 1/2, but the potential is really there to put this place over the top.
There really are some great things about this place and I will run through them quickly:
Decor - cool laid back vibe. Been here multiple times and just noticed that the "chandelier" made of skulls is actually old broken skateboard decks. That's pretty bad ass.
Friendly staff.
Quick service.
Daily specials and lunch time deals.
Good food.
Good drink selection.
Reasonably priced.
Now the issues, and really it's one main one and a second one that's more of a head scratcher:
Lack of real flavor/spices - it's supposed to Mexican place yet the food, although good, lacks any kick to it. Last time I changed Mexican food isn't known for its blandness. There are no sauces on the side to top off your dish with other than a standard bottle of hot sauce you can get from any market. Part of the experience of going to a Mexican restaurant is trying different flavors/concoctions of sauces and varieties of salsas.
Sure they have a tiny cup plastic cup of salsa you can buy for $2 more, but it was watery and bland too.
Here's a free marketing tip... get a little sauce station with some nice hot sauces and salsa option and you will be likely see your drink revenue increase!
Other small issue, which was already mentioned by another reviewer, is the literally 3 small tortilla chips with a burrito. Not only is that just bizarre by itself, but if you get the burrito to take away, they don't even give you the chips . Just bizarre. Either give a handful or chips or don't give them at all. read more
