Found that it was a true pub where you can sit at the bar and have a couple pints. I got chatting with the staff the one night who found out I was from the US and got to chatting with them and the locals. Great staff and great patrons who had not problem chatting with an out of towner. Went there several times overall and the beer is cold and the foot hot and excellent. Had a few meals that tasted like they were home cooked. I would definitely go to The Inlet again if I found myself in Inverloch. Cheers mates!

The menu relies on local, seasonal produce so the menu is updated frequently which keeps things fresh. The Moo burger is the signature menu item here and is delicious (and very filling!) RECOMMENDATION: Stop by on the way to the beach and sit outside in the sun with a Moo burger and a couple of beers.

The food was so fresh and obviously homemade. Each in our group of four found a perfect selection. My selection, the root vegetable lasagna was full of wonderful veggies and fresh tomato sauce. Others enjoyed the chicken Parmesan, fish and chips (incredibly light batter), and seafood hotpot. Though we were too full for dessert, we had to share the sticky date cake - wow! So light and flavorful. The wine list complements the food. Our server, Vickie, knew the menu well and offered great recommendations. To top it all off, the prices were quite reasonable. As a vegetarian I was so happy to see a salad on the menu (lamb salad without the lamb) and the fries were great. I highly recommend the whole bulb of garlic, just like being at home (we're north of Gilroy in California)! The husband had the bangers and mash and savoured every bite. We are visiting Phillip Island so no idea of the eateries so when I initially found this restaurant online, the menu would suggest its a fine dining establishment. Upon arrival the overpriced food was the only thing that substantiate my assumptions. While we waited to be seated as the sign suggests 3 staff passed us delivering food without so much as an acknowledgement of our existence. I should mention we tried to get an earlier booking but were told the restaurant was heavily booked. When we arrived only a third of the place was fill so how busy they was questionable. It took nearly an hour for our meals to come in which time not one person out of the 5 floor staff came to offer us more drinks or how we were going. There were other stuff ups with our order like the chips didn't come out with the steak as specified and I ordered the entree prawns to have for mains but the waitress heard that I wanted a mains size so we paid twice what I intended. She admitted she misunderstood it but we had to pay for this mistake. Prawns was over cooked and came with sweet chilli sauce that clearly came out of a bottle. For a nearly $200 bill it was very sad and disappointing.
