We were in search of the most effective means of keeping our young puppy in our yard. We saw this…read moresystem installed in a neighbor's yard and thought it might meet our needs. Our dog was only a puppy then and is a small breed dog and we thought it might be best to wait a bit. We remain glad we did that. When we were ready, our first contact with the company was with Angela. She is prompt in response to protocols, answers questions effectively and it was clear that this company would do a good job and they took this business seriously as they are locally owned and would-be customer-centric. We choose to proceed with Dog Watch of the Blue Ridge Mountains and PJ installed the fence this Monday morning. They promised to be at our home at 9ish and they were. The installation occurred per PJ and the training commenced the same day immediately after the installation. The fence we purchased was the 1200 Fence. We do not have a lot of property. Our dog is never outside unless we are and we had no plans to leave her outside unattended. We have a small lot in N. Asheville. I mention the following as an assist to those making a choice of fence. Evidently, aside from the additional features we really didn't feel we needed as our dog is not outside if we aren't- ie. (multi dogs, email notification that your dog has broken the containment area, etc.) both (Pro Fence and Smart Fence) can also avail customers of being able to identify the distance of the alert tone on the dog collar more exactly than if you purchase the 1200 Fence. It is not much more money so if, like us, any area of your yard is narrow and you may need to maximize as much of it as you can for you and your dog to remain safe in the contained area this is something you might wish to consider. After our first day of attempting the training of our dog, we contacted the company again. The space available before encountering the flags in our front property did not allow for our dog and ourselves to occupy it to safely explore the "containment area" without activating the collar even though the dog was not trying to break the containment area. As those who live here know, the topography in this area is not flat. Our front yard has a narrow front strip and ascends to another flat level above that. Angela understood the problem immediately They were completely responsive to our call. The very next day PJ came back to our home to offer as much front yard as is possible so that we were able to carefully navigate that space as we train her to understand her containment area. They could not have been more responsive. We would wholeheartedly recommend this company and believe that we will accomplish exactly what we wanted to achieve; keeping our dog safe while she is outside with us and offering her the ability to enjoy being in the yard off lead once she learns her containment area. They are a great team, are responsive to clients, work to help you achieve your goal in choosing the fence and we recommend them without reservation. Thank you both so much.
