This branch is always great! I am extraordinarily grateful they have Saturday hours (as I'm sure many ppl are). Everyone is kind and does everything they can to make it a nice experience. Highly recommend this branch. read more

When you deposited thousands of dollars into your checking account for years and they reject a $6.73 check from GEICO in my name, and sent it back to me. Time to get a new bank. read more

Angel was great at helping me solve all my problems! I've been to other branches where they tell me to call customer service, but not here. I had questions regarding my account as well as my mobile device and he made sure I left with acknowledgment of everything! Thank you Angel! read more

I would not recommend this bank to anybody. I did a mobile deposit with a payroll check for a very low amount And it's taken a week and it has still not gone through they say it is just the system when the funds have already been posted but not made available, this bank is very untrustworthy Third World type security and labor. I would not bank with them or anybody affiliated read more

The only reason I give this 4 stars stars is for the outstanding job Mr. Angel did, ( that no one has done for me.) I have been coming to this branch for 2 years. I have gotten help from everyone there including the manager Kevin. First of all, Angel did an amazing job explaining all my options! He gives a light in that environment. I won't deny it when I saw him I thought him to be the new manager because of his mannerisms and how charismatic he is. No disrespect to the manager but, he should really take notes from his employee. Angel has patience and was able to help me solve multiple issues with my BBVA account. Before him I did think about changing branches even though this one is 3 min from my house. Bbva, give this man a raise ! Everyone ask for ANGEL. read more

Business Checking Account. This is the worst banking experience I've ever had. Poor customer service, a fee for every little thing (including cash deposits), and creative accounting on their part to extract more fees. Forget about customer service as well. They do not listen or take any kind of ownershp of your issue. The last straw for me was dealing with Jose, who never called back when he said he would, maintained another conversation while supposedly helping me on the phone, and in general seemed to be more entertained with my problem than to assist me with it. Do yourself a big favor and bank somewhere else. I know I'm going to be. read more

Horrible customer service. One customer was being helped and another teller was open. I was ignored by the other teller for a while until she finished what she was doing then she left without acknowledging that I was waiting. Finally another teller came out to help me. I needed to cash a check written by someone with a BBVA account. Because I don't have an account with them I was informed that I would be charged $7 to cash the check. I told her that was ok but that I thought it was ridiculous. She then asked who I bank with and I told her Stearns Bank and she said "why don't you go have them cash it". My first experience confirms it.... I will never do business with BBVA. read more

This bank is an awful choice for small business. Excessive fees for everything. Charges for depositing too much cash in a month, high monthly service charges, etc. The staff from top to bottom isn't knowlegable about business or even their own policies. They aren't any good for personal checking either. I was told my expectations were foolish and I should have known it's most advantageous to bank with whomever held my mortgage. STAY AWAY! The place is a complete joke and you will be left feeling so incredibly frustrated until you finally take your business elsewhere. read more

Worst bank ever!!! System down and they could not access our account so they utilized the Overdraft Option and charged us 21 times at $38 each!!! Refused to reinstate the fees, branch manager lied about system being down to my husband, accused me of cussing out a teller, which I did not, and then called my husband this afternoon to let him know that we are no longer wanted as customers and they are closing our SEVEN Accounts....2 of which are BUSINESS ACCOUNTS! They make promises to get your business and then renege on them....Charge a $38 overdraft fee instead of declining a transaction as we have asked them NUMEROUS times to do....Great way to make (steal) money! Completely incompetent personnel! Rude and forever changing! New Branch Mangers constantly.....on the 5th one since we brought out business there 3 years ago! Drive thru takes at least 10-15 minutes to make deposits....ridiculous! Bring back Cynthia Taylor! read more

This whole bank is a complete joke! I have never had any issues with banks in the past but this one seriously needs to get their act together and treat their customers like customers. I was slapped with so many random "fees" it was absurd, all of which I had to fight for. I had an account for 4 months and finally said screw it and closed it. I do not recommend them at all. Huge mistake on my part for choosing them. Additionally, their locations are so spread out and not convenient at all. Go with someone else and save yourself the hassle, seriously. read more

I am officially leaving This bank after being with them since 2010. I am a self contracted hygienist so I get paid daily. I make 4-6 deposits per week. Today they said they have to do a 5 day hold on my check and I said they have never done that. It was only for 262.00. It's 2 days before Labor Day weekend and I still have 2 more days Of work and deposits. Are they gonna hold those 2 checks too for the long weekend? I had to leave to go cash it at the bank where the Dr is established at. This is some bullshit, let alone there shitty customer service and them never being open on a Saturday. They just got bought out by PNC as well so they will be changing a lot including all my bank cards and account numbers. read more

I have received excellent service from the staff here. Mr. Basha helped to setup my personal and business checking accounts and I have nothing but good things to say about him and the bank. He made it very easy for me to do some of the account setup processes electronically as it was difficult for me to get to the bank some days. I've learned a lot about this bank and that fact that they didn't take any of the government bailout money I think says a lot about its financial stability and I like that in a bank - I feel they will be around for a long time. Many banks are the same - yes they have fees (all banks do) but what makes a difference to me is the customer service. I really thought Mr. Basha took very good care of me and my accounts. read more

We use to have our business checking accounts there about 5 years ago. Imagine my surprise when I found out someone in Santiago Chile had a credit card with my business name on it and was charging on it. As I mentioned, have not bank at the Scottsdale location for many years. Trying to get the situation resolved has been a nightmare. STAY AWAY FROM COMPASS BANK. read more

Don't let all of the negative reviews sway you! No writes about positive experiences, and was my experience more than positive! Jeannie is an amazing gal, and you can tell she really cares about her customers as well as her job and branch. I will always work with her whenever I can!! read more

I wish there was a "negative" button but this was the lowest rating allowed. Please, Please, Please...STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK. Employees are very low quality....they don't seem to care that mistakes are made and they don't correct them. In all my years of banking, I have never come across such a LACK of professionalism or work ethic. So many issues with this bank...too numerous to mention. All I can say is, please read other Yelp posts...it's not just me.... I have never dealt with this bank before and if I can save one person from going through the nightmare I am now dealing with, it will have been worth it. read more

I have not been super impressed lately with service. One deposit at the window - now takes 10 minutes. When the last bank manager was there - it was NOT this way. They have not hired appropriate personnel. read more

Don't do business with this bank! We had our personal and business accounts at the branch located on Baseline and Higley. What a nightmare! they lacked customer service in every level. I needed a invoice notarized for our business, they wanted blood! My husband went in to close our accounts they had him sign forms wait 3 weeks, I went in to get our money out and the teller said that we signed the wrong forms! This happened several times so we were not able to close the accounts and get our money back, finally I called the main office and was told that we needed to write a letter with the business letterhead requesting to close our accounts and email letter then wait three days to close accounts, they said they had finally received the letter and closed our account however now we have to wait an additional 21 days to get our money back. I think BBVA is a SCAM! KEEP AWAY! read more

My wife and I had discovered online that BBVA Compass offers a money market account with a 1.242% interest rate. We went to this branch to open an account. We were told that the money market interest rate is 1.000%. We pulled up the BBVA Compass website on our cellphones and found the online listing of money market interest rates for Arizona and showed him the 1.242% for account balances above $10,000. He said that that's only for an online application and not using a branch. But nothing on the website giving the rates said it requires an online application without branch access. We showed him the BBVA website. He checked with someone and told us that 1.000% was all he could give. So we walked out. We don't care for the online bait-and-switch. I do give 2 stars rather than 1 star because BBVA didn't completely lie to us as we can get the 1.242% interest rate by applying and setting up the account online. But the overall taste in our mouth is that we'd prefer not to do business with BBVA. read more
