We were referred to Calibrating Air through our Home Warranty company. It is always nerve racking…read moretrying to find a good company each time we move. Let me just say this...we could not be MORE THANKFUL to have been referred to such a RESPECTABLE business!! We had Steve Ray and another technician drop by for a standard A/C inspection. I was highly impressed at the time they took to not only inspect our A/C, but to also take the time to educate me on our shut-off valves (water, gas, etc), what to do in case of an emergency, and how to make our home more efficient in how we use our A/C. Being new to Colorado and having a basement, the tips shared on how to maximize our A/C's air output to cool our home was invaluable! I actually feel confident in what we are doing in our home to save energy costs! So, now lets top it all off with service standards that speak volumes above the rest! While servicing our A/C they noticed our fan was filthy and suggested getting it cleaned. Long story short, the previous homeowners did not service the A/C properly! We were so thankful to get this serviced. Unfortunately, a day or so later we were hearing metal on metal noises coming from the basement. After calling the 24 hour line, we had Steve back at our house within a half hour (at night on a Friday). Turns out that all the gunk in the fan was cushioning the issues with the bearings, masking the need to get the motor replaced. My heart sank! I knew it was not anything they did...but nonetheless it is not something you want to hear right before vacation. Steve called the owner to see if he could get us a deal. Long story short, since they were the last people out working on the fan, even though we all knew it was not their fault, they cut us a deal no one could refuse (and had it fixed that night)...I was just about in tears! It is SO nice to find a reputable business who is truly looking out for its customers, who has employees who believe in what they do and make a difference! There is no doubt that we will be using Calibrating Air Heating & Cooling for our annual inspections and any other issues that may arise.

They were quick to send a technician out when our furnace wouldn't turn on, which I initially…read moreappreciated. Unfortunately, the experience that followed was extremely disappointing. The technician told me he had found a rock inside the exterior exhaust pipe and called me outside to show me. While I was standing right next to him, he put his finger into the pipe and pushed the rock farther inside until it fell past the elbow of the exhaust pipe. He then quoted me $200 to remove the rock he had just pushed further into the pipe. I declined because I didn't feel I should have to pay to fix a problem that had been made worse during the service call. Before leaving, I asked whether a discount might be possible, since the rock could potentially have been removed more cautiously without creating the need to cut into the interior pipes. He said he understood my concern but wasn't authorized to offer discounts and recommended I call the office the following week. I called the office shortly after he left, hoping to find a reasonable solution. My call was escalated to the owner, Connie, and I remained calm and patient throughout the conversation, expecting some willingness to work toward a resolution. Instead, she quickly refused any discount and repeatedly insisted that I was "blaming her technician." I explained that, regardless of whether it was intentional, I had personally watched him push the rock farther into the pipe, potentially turning a simpler issue into a more costly repair. Connie repeatedly blamed my child for the rock being there in the first place. While no one witnessed who put the rock into the exhaust opening, I did witness the technician push it farther into the pipe. The way the situation was handled left me questioning the entire experience. She ultimately refused to offer any assistance, even arguing that addressing the issue would require another trip charge. This was particularly frustrating because her own technician had specifically instructed me to call back the following week to discuss the possibility of a resolution. I understand that accidents happen, and I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable. I was simply hoping for accountability and a fair resolution after watching a technician potentially make a problem worse and then quote me $200 to fix it. The lack of customer service, accountability, and professionalism from the owner was the most disappointing part of this experience. A company's response when something doesn't go as planned says a lot about how it treats its customers, and unfortunately, this experience fell far short of expectations. I would not feel comfortable using this company again.
