Honestly, to feed the whole group, you only need to order two Turkish breakfasts because there is SO MUCH food. Seating was quick with very friendly service. Restaurant stretches two building, bathroom is downstairs and clean. A few outside seat options ideal for smokers. Lots of locals with a few tourists too. Accepts credit cards. As mentioned, it's a lot of food. Standouts included the menemen, lightly fried balls of dough enjoyed with fresh honey, yogurt, and strawberry jam, cheeses, olives, and dips. Honestly everything. Probably one of the two best Turkish breakfast I've ever had. Definitely enjoy Turkish tea with your meal. The easiest path to enjoy here is to simply get the set and try some of everything. As usual, getting here by foot required a strenuous walk up a steep hill and a giant set of stairs. However, a cute little cat decided to keep us company, and it made it all so magical and special. We arrived around 1pm and the place was not too full on a Tuesday. We were able to get a table for two right away inside. The waiter was very nice and brought us menus and some water. We already knew what we wanted so we ended up ordering the famous Turkish breakfast which was amazing! I was truly mind blown at how generous the portion was. With the breakfast we tried: - Breads: the breakfast comes with generous amounts of bread. You get both a regular white bread that is deliciously fluffy and has a nice crust, as well as a decadent leavened round bread called bazlama. This was the house special bread baked fresh every day and it was delicious. There was a small extra charge for additional bazlama but can confirm it was well worth it. The bread was soft, warm, and had a fantastic flavor. 11/10. Both paired well with all the items in the breakfast. - Yigit Special Eggs: the breakfast also came with these eggs which were hard boiled but then broken up and cooked in this delicious sauce of butter and spices. The flavor was out of this world, with a little bit is smokiness and heat from the spices balanced out by the sweet creaminess of the browned butter. I loved the texture of having hard boiled eggs since you got a nice mix of the chewy egg white portions as well as the silky yolks. Amazing. I want to copy this recipe at home. - Halloumi and Sujuk: they brought out a sizzling pan with 4 pieces of deliciously spiced sujuk and grilled halloumi together. This is a heavenly combination. The chewy and salty halloumi went very well with the sausage. The butter also gets this super good flavor and we ate some of it with the bread on the side. 11/10. - cheeses: all the cheeses in this spread were amazing! They came in generous portions. The feta was so creamy and went very well with the fresh cucumbers and tomatoes they gave us with the breakfast. The herbed cheese was also amazing. My favorite was the Cecil cheese which came in little strings and was super mild. It went very well with both savory and sweet spreads alike. - savory spreads: for savory dips we got a variety of olives that were all really good, a tomato dip that had a deep flavor of sundried tomatoes and was mildly spicy, as well as a tangier fresh tomato dip that felt a little lighter and more citrusy/ bright. All very good! The fresh butter was also amazing and tasted incredibly creamy. - sweet spreads: my favorite part! The breakfast came with a variety of sweet spreads including different homemade jams (orange and cherry) that went very well with the bread and butter as well as the cheeses. It also came with these decadent tahini molasses with a little grape that had just the perfect balance of nuttiness and sweetness. The kaymak (clotted cream) was so decadent as well, it had a creamy sweetness that went so well with the silky, deep flavor of the honey. Amazing! On top of everything, the breakfast came with tea included which was very warm and comforting. It was a lot of food and we left practically full for the rest of the day. The quality of all the ingredients was top notch. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in Istanbul. The area around here is also super quaint and cute, perfect for a leisurely stroll to digest the delicious meal. Pretty close as well to Taksim Square and the top of Istiklal street in case you want to do some exploring after breakfast. We had just finished circling around the grand bazaar about 1500 times and this place was a mere 5-10 min walk. The decor is really funky and unique. There's an indoor portion and an outdoor portion, mostly situated in a balcony-like structure. There are very colorful cushions and equally colorful tables to match the surrounding adornment. Service was amazing. We were seated immediately and started on drinks and hookah in no time. Our server came and checked on us frequently but not frequently enough to make it annoying. This place was perfect for insta snaps and we took quite a few of them. Thankfully, our garb was unintentionally flamboyant and we fit right in. The drinks were good, both from the eclectic cocktail menu as well as the classics like screw drivers. We dipped our toe into quite a few different drink categories that night because the service was good and the hookah was kept fresh. Although it is a vegetarian restaurant, there one or two chicken dishes on the menu. Since there wasn't so much change on the menu for years, I have already tried most dishes which were OK. I mean the tastes are nice, not heavenly but you know that all of them are healthy. This time I had warm served Aegean stew made of artichokes, faba beans and black-eyed beans. It was so light and tasty, I really like it. I had homemade ginger ale for a drink but frankly saying I didn't like it maybe because I am used to Canadian dry or other brands. But I recommend its lemonade with ginger. I hope they add more experimental vegetable recipes on the menu next time. At the end of the meal they always serve coriander and some dry herb to refreshen the breath which I really like. This turned out to be a regrettable decision as it seems nearly everyone in Istanbul smokes, it was raining outside, so that meant people were smoking in the covered patio. Made enjoying the meal difficult but I don't fault the restaurant for that since, well, practically everyone here smokes. Food was really good and lived up to other reviews. One thing I felt was odd is the prices were written on with a wax pencil. It made me think there were two versions of the menu, a local, and a tourist. Don't have any proof of that but not having fixed menu prices seemed odd. Maybe it has something to do with fluctuations in food supply pricing but this was the only place in Istanbul we ate at that had this kind of hand written pricing. Staff was friendly and, again, the food was quite tasty. Portions were decent but not generous. Everything was fresh. I'd recommend this place for sure but heed the warning on smokers if you sit outside and, like me, can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke.
