I'm new to the Sarasota area and had a bit of a dental emergency -- my crown popped off while I was eating candy. A friend recommended this dentist, and I'm so glad I listened. From the moment I walked in, the staff and dentist treated me with kindness and compassion -- they're truly angels. The dentist not only reattached my crown affordably, but she also took the time to show me that the previous dentist hadn't sealed it properly, which explained the discoloration I was seeing. She fixed the seal and made sure everything was done right. Being new to the area, I'm beyond grateful to have found this practice. This office should be investigated. The unprofessional woman dentist (looks fresh out of dental school) told me I needed 3 crowns. I got a second opinion and only needed a build up of my original crown. This place is a scam and the entire office was rude with disgusting attitudes. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! read more

GET A SECOND OPINION TO FIND OUT I DIDNT NEED A CROWN LIKE THEY SAID I DID THEY ALSO SAID I NEEDED A FEW FILLINGS AND THAT WAS NOT TRUE EITHER. They quoted me an outrageous price WITH my insurance in network. Which made me go elsewhere to find a different price, I made two more appointments at two other dentists just for second opinions and turns out I don't need any of that done which BAYVIEW dental said I needed. I was about to pay for something AND get my mouth worked on when it doesn't need to be paid or touched. They don't care about their patients they only care about your money. I never write reviews but this infuriated me and prospective patients should know about this. I am also in the healthcare field and you call yourself a doctor??? I moved down to Florida in 2015 and started to go to Bay View Dental's on Clark Road. After a few years I moved out of the area for a while and now I'm back in the Sarasota vicinity and I found out that Bay View Dental moved to a new location I reconnected with them was there today and Dr. Anthony did a very good job for me. I'm very pleased with their work and their professionalism. Friendly and beautiful surrounded office. I'm glad I'm back in the area makes me feel comfortable with their professionalism. read more

As H.L. Mencken said," when they say it's not about the money...guess what, it's about the money". These guys are shysters! I chose this practice because it was in network with my insurance. In addition to a cleaning and with my insurance I had to pay an additional $100.00 the day of my appointment. To my great surprise, about two weeks later I received another bill from them . When I finally spoke to someone there they said not to pay the bill because they were reviewing it. Today, I received a nasty call from someone in their office who said she would be referring this to a collection agency! My bill was for $37.20-. So, it's not about the money but more about the principal of the matter for me. My husband had 2 appointments there , paid $600 and also received an additional bill for $133.00! I guess my next stop is the better business bureau . I wish I had read the yelp reviews before I booked an appointment here. Buyer beware! read more

I will never know the quality of detail care services because of the manner in which I was treated. These dentists will not be getting my money if they hire such shady people as the patient's first point of contact. Diana, Dr. Patel's hygienist, dId better to protect my teeth for long term than any other I've seen in my lifetime. Patient, helpful, kind and knowledgeable... This is a great place, very clean and professional, has a great location in downtown Sarasota and very friendly staff, however, they do tend to rip people off.... in my personal opinion. I was almost charged $40 for an antibiotic mouth wash that costs $8 with a prescription. That really turned me away from this place... just a friendly warning. read more

If you are looking for a long term relationship with your dentist and staff, you will not experience it at Bay View's Main St. location. When I first went to Bayview's Main St. location it was great. The dentist was great and very caring. I feel having a long term relationship with your dentist is important. However since 2016, the dentist and hygienist changes have been too frequent. The dentist has changed 3 times and I lost count of the other staff changes. I understood the first dentist change, but 3 in 3 years is too many!! It's time to get a select a new Dental Office. Terrible! I went over what I wanted in detail, but it meant nothing. He did the cheap way claiming physics wouldn't allow what I wanted at the final appointment. He then hid in another room and left an assistant to explain. She apologized and said she is leaving for another dental practice which she did. Bayview Dental has a high turnover in dentists at the Main Street location. If I had not recently changed dental practices, I would be going to my fourth dentist in 2 years. You also need to keep an eagle eye on your insurance. On multiple occasions, Bayview charged me for procedures which were not allowed in their negotiated contract with my insurance (they were in-network), and submitted inadequate information to properly justify why several procedures were medically necessary. I spent many hours watching what they were submitting to my insurance, and following up with them to make sure the charges and justification were correct. If I had not done that, it would have cost me thousands of dollars (I had significant dental work last year). They even said they had submitted an appeal on one charge which had been denied (the insurance provider said it was not adequately justified or medically necessary), however I found out that Bayview had never submitted an appeal to my insurance. I ended up paying out of my pocket for that procedure since they could not justify it as medically necessary. And to beat it all, I was told I need to replace one of the crowns that Bayview put in less than a year ago since it does not fit properly and my tooth is exposed when it should not be. read more

So far not so good. I am a very nervous dental patient. I came here once for my cleaning appointment. The office was closed. The send 10 text messages to confirm your appointment, and one missed phone call that they suddenly had to close for a meeting. Now I'm here for a crown prep, root canal, and a filling. They said we don't prescribe pain med because no has ever needed it. Bsht. I made the mistake of assuming they would at least give me nitris oxide for so many procedures at once. They said no we don't. My appoint was at 10:30. They numbed me up at 10:45. It is now going on noon and no one has came back and checked on me or even begun the procedure. I'm finding a new dentist. Went in yesterday for the first time :) after coming in on time On my appointment Oscar did a great job when took my x-rays NO painful like in other places Ive been before so i was glad and then I saw the dentist she was very nice and explain to me with lots of details about how my teeth were looking gave me some tips about flossing too . My wife and I became patients of Bayview Dental, Sarasota, Florida in 2005 and left this office in January 2013. My wife had crowns implanted by Bayview Dental in 2005-2006 . No one inquired as to any allergies, and she specifically ordered high noble gold crowns. My wife has a severe allergy to nickel diagnosed from early childhood. After the crowns were implanted , my wife let the dental hygienist know that the gums were irritated and constantly sore. She was told by the dental hygienist that she would need to have 3 month cleanings and improve dental hygiene. She was never seen by the dentist and there was never any follow up to alleviate this problem. The symptoms persisted, and my wife continued to address this issue with the dental hygienist. Her gums continued to be swollen,red and extremely inflamed. Finally, we found a dentist who specialized in diagnosing challenging dental issues . At one glance, he determined the problem to be a result of a severe allergic reaction. This dentist asked for my wife's dental records in late February 2017 and early March 2017 from Bayview Dental in order to determine a course of treatment. After numerous requests by this dentist and our consent to release "All records" over a period extending into April 2017, Bayview Dental only sent basic intake information, and no information as to the composition material of the crowns. Further follow up by our dentist and ourselves did not produce a positive outcome. Finally, our lawyer on April 9, 2017 requested her total dental records be preserved relating to all paper and electronic dental records . Bayview Dental finally replied to our attorney's request that these records were destroyed, as the law only requires them to keep "all dental records" four years after a patient leaves a dental office. ................ The above information is factual. It is troubling that just after four years and two months these records were destroyed, and we only received this communication when our attorney sent them a request demanding "all records" on the treatment of my wife. In this age of computers, these records could be stored indefinitely. I can only draw the conclusion that my wife's health was secondary and Bayview Dental's priorities are seriously lacking After much suffering, significant expense and surgeries for damaged tissues, she is finally on the road to good oral health. All crowns were replaced with non metal porcelain ones. All this expense and suffering could have been avoided if Bayview Dental did due diligence in caring for the concerns and health of my wife instead of blaming the patient and avoiding all disclosure of record. I can't help but resent the treatment we received at this office. read more

I had made this appt months ago and gave all my insurance information to them saying if there was any problem about coverage to please let me know. They assured me they would contact me if they did not accept my insurance. I never heard back from them so I assumed all was good. I get in there and they try to charge me for my cleaning and exam. They also tell me it's the law that they have to take ex rays before a cleaning , which of coarse is not the law snd I'm quite aware of that. And of coarse they were going to try to charge me for tat also. However , I know what my benefits are and I was not paying a dime ....it was s big ordeal ..them saying she's on the phone with my insurance and it's not covered...so I politely said fine I will leave. Then that's when she said let me check your mouth maybe we can give you a healthy mouth cleaning..ha ...like what?? Anyway that's when she agreed to a " healthy mouth cleaning" but brought up the X-rays....I assured her under no circumstances I was having X-rays. They finally gave me the cleaning IF you want to call it hat bc i do better c,eating my teeth at home...I get dental cleanings every 4 months so I'm quite aware of how they go and how they feel afterwards and I left there feeling like I never even had them ckeaned..it was maybe 15 mins of nothing.....never go there ..it's all about money ...I called my insurance when I got home and they were like...you should never had to go through that ...you have insurance that not only covered cleanings and Xmas but X-rays...terrible place terrible experience...I went home and made a dental appointment with a real place that , while they don't take my insurance, I know they do a great job. read more

Other than having an excellent dentist in Dr. Pereire, this multi-office practice is horrible! They are forever changing personnel and the office staff acts like they are doing you a big favor. I had been going there for several years and had seen 7 or 8 different hygienists. I don't know if they leave on their own accord or not. After one being so obnoxious and talking to me like I was senile, I wrote a long letter to the owner of Bayview, Dr. Liszewski. Never got a reply - not one word - and that alone says a lot for the business! I went to another office hoping the hygienist would be better and she was - that is until the next time I went and she was gone (another turnover and not even a call to inform me). The next one I went to tried to tell me my gums were all 6 & 7's which I knew they weren't! I should have listened to other people who told me that is normal for their practice - only caring about making $$$$$$$$$. The next girl actually agreed I had no 6 or 7's but she gave me the lightest cleaning I have every had - I left the office feeling like I needed a cleaning. That was the last straw! I wasn't happy about leaving Dr. Pereira since she is great but it takes more than one good dentist to make a complete practice. read more
