For EV drivers - bring your charging cable and a 50' extension cord - they let you plug in your electric vehicle to a 110 outlet on the tree by their crawfish float. It's a lovely quaint Cajun spot, with super friendly proprietors. Had a lovely overnight on the Bayou and classic breakfast (learned I'm not a fan of Hog Head cheese). Kids had an adjoining room in Cabins 3 & 4, which share a big balcony (great for parents of little ones!) Clean but not fancy; it is along a road which got noisy a bit, but still private. Don't have to drive an ICE - electric vehicles all the way! This is mid-way between Superchargers so the overnight extra 30 mile charge keeps you free of range anxiety. There is a charger nearby in Lafayette at Moss BMW if you forget your cord.

Beautiful way to spend a evening! Cabin #4 back porch

Needed to get away from New Orleans for a weekend. Stayed here at the bayou cabins and let me tell you it was the best decision I have made In awhile. The owners were very welcoming and make you feel right at home the second you step out of your car. We stayed in cabin number 4. It's a perfect cabin for two- we had our own bathroom and shared a back porch with cabin number 3. We walked out to a beautiful sight of the bayou and the rest of the cabins. They have 14 cabins in all some equipped with full a kitchen. They also serve breakfast In the morning from 8:30-10:00. The grounds are well lit with beautiful lights. There is also a fire pit on the grounds for all to use. Overall best place to stay in the area highly recommend it, we will be back soon!

Our cottage had a beautiful polished cedar floor, a full kitchen, a great bed, a screened porch, all 25' away from the Bayou Teche.

I hate writing about my fave places, especially the ones off the beaten track. More people find out…read morehow incredible they are & then they become too busy! LOL This is one of my fave places to stay in Louisiana. I grew up in the area & when I want to go home, this is where I want to go kick back. This area is very very special, there is tons of great food, antique stores & historic places you can visit & the coolest place to stay is here. If you are staying for a while, rent the whole cottage. It's beautiful. If your just staying for a few days, stay in the barn. The upstairs is perfect for 2 & it has a Jacuzzi tub. The views of the lake are breathtaking from the front balcony. I LOVE that there is a separate "party barn/cook shack" here that you can cook & hang out outside & take it all in. It's not a shack by any means, it's a very cool set up, a chefs dream outdoor kitchen. Stuff that Louisiana girls LOVE. It's 100 % Louisiana style ;) There are at least 10-12 old oaks draped in moss on the property that are over 200 years old that are registered with the State. Just like a picture perfect dream, flowering shrubs that perfume the air, puppies that greet you on arrival, children playing the the background.. I've dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas: they've gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the color of my mind - Emily Bronte One of the most beautiful places in the world to me. This place is nothing short of stunning, and truly feels like a little piece of heaven. The decorations were rustic and perfectly matched what you'd expect in a simple country home. We stayed in the barn loft, and I was pleasantly surprised when the AC was more than able to keep up with the summer heat in southern Louisiana. The breakfast was simple but good, and much better than any you'll find in a hotel. The pond was beautiful and peaceful, and there were no noises except the sounds of nature (mostly cicadas chirping). I cannot recommend this place enough, and we will most definitely be coming back for future visits.

The gardens are lovely, there is a gazebo from which to watch bayou teche roll by and a welcoming wraparound porch as well. The basic kitchen in the glasses in porch has an icebox filled with complementary drinks and where I was able to refresh my road-weary cold items. Russell and Brenda are the kind and helpful managers. Parking is limited to a side street but perfectly safe in this small town. I wish the wiring would allow a few more outlets in the rooms. Bring your 10' lightning charging cords and a multi usb adaptor... but it's an old house. The charm beats the lo band width WiFi (use your personal hotspot). So this is not a complaint: be aware that you are coming to an older property with eccentricities and you will be delighted.
