Well worth a stop. Some nice history about the area. Nice photo op in front of the entrance and some artifacts from old ships.

Took a long weekend trip to Minnesota, and my geologist pal and I drove up to Duluth and…read morebeyond...and came upon this great shop! So full disclaimer, we are geologists, so we might enjoy this place a little more than others, but I think it's treasures would be appreciated by most. They have all types of stone and gemstone products, as well as a museum that holds some of their best rocks and minerals. If you need an intro to agates and thomsonite, you will get to see fantastic specimens here. Agates are the star of the show here - you can buy raw, tumbled, jewelery set, slices...you name it, they have agate! As well as thomsonite and Mary Ellen jasper. If you are a geologist reading this, the Mary Ellen jasper is fabulous and appears to be BIF with little digitate stromatolites. It's gorgeous. I bought a couple tumbled pieces and a pendant that had a little stromatolite in it. These are the locally-derived treasures, but they also have a good selection of non-native rocks. Mexican geodes, Brazilian amethyst, unique opal jewelry, semiprecious beads, polished fossil dishware, individual mineral specimens, polished bookends, petrified wood...a bit of everything! Their prices were pretty reasonable, from my experience. The agate jewelry was a bit pricier than I anticipated, but I'm not familiar with those. The owners have prepared many of the stones, and are pretty knowledgeable. Overall, a nice place to stop to check out pretty rocks!

Decent place to stop and look for rocks if you're up in northern mn. Lots of different stones,…read morelittle fossilized rocks and 3D bringer knick knacks. There's jewelry options too. I'd have love to have seen more into on the properties of stones. Service, hit or miss. They didn't engage with me even though I stood at the counter for minutes waiting. A bit wary to go back after some of these other reviews about the owners behavior. He didn't engage with me so I didn't notice issues.

I came here during Labor Day weekend and the place was slightly busy. I did come around here about…read more30 minutes prior to closing time, but that was sufficient to go around and take in the views. There is an entry fee to enter the lighthouse and get to the top and the fee is worth the views. You can, however, check out the lighthouse from the outside for free. I have been to dozens of lighthouses in my lifetime and this is one of the very few ones where you can get up too close to the rotating light lens. The views are gorgeous all round. Definitely a must-visit if you are in the area.

A great campground along the North Shore. We stayed at cart in site 17, you're right on the cliffs…read moreso the view is beautiful. It's a pretty spacious site as well with a private bench that overlooks the lake. The walk in is about 5 minutes but there is a slight incline towards the sites so not a bad walk but with a cart full of stuff you might be feeling it. Beware of the flies!! The flies were so awful at our site, not sure if that's the case with the other sites but we decided to do a hike mid day because we couldn't relax at the site without a swarm of flies around us. we probably won't go back to this site because of that. The site has a bear box but critters can still get inside!! we have some of our food nibbled on both nights so they definitely know there way around. Pebble beach is beautiful, busy at times but great for relaxing, dipping your toes in or enjoying a picnic. Speaking of picnics, they have a designated "picnic area" that has a pavilion, an inside multipurpose room, flush toilets and plenty of picnic tables along the shoreline. It's not my favorite campsite along the North Shore, but still beautiful and worth the visit.

We had visited the Depot in Duluth and seen the North Shore Scenic Railroad departure point, so we were looking forward to visit the Two Harbors Depot Museum, where the NSSR train stops for its northernmost point. The depot is located in the 1907 headquarters of the Duluth and Iron Range Railway Company. It's been charmingly restored, with ticket booths and telephone operator stations still intact. There are several different areas of displays, covering everything from military service to local culture at the turn of the last century. The museum has a gift shop and bathrooms available. Be aware of the timing of your visit; if you arrive at the same time the NSSR train does, there will be many passengers lining up to use those bathrooms, as the train is historic and does not have lavatory facilities. We were able to see the train pull into the station and, after its rest stop, hear that most lovely sound--a train whistle signaling "All Aboard!" The Depot Museum is definitely worth a stop for all visitors to Two Harbors!

The museum was comprised of a single floor with a very large center space flanked by a couple of smaller rooms.
