We followed the path to the south. Walked down to the Speke's Mill Mouth Waterfall and back. Most of the path is pretty easy and flat. Our English Bulldog did just fine. It does go up and down a bit, but there's always enough room and/or space. Even though there were suprisingly few visitors on this picture perfect day. Only the few steps down to the waterfall are a bit more challenging. Especially if the ground is moist or wet. Along the path the views are just spectacular. Wonderful coastlines, ocean views, crazy rock formations on the beach (looks exactly like Itzurun Beach in Spain, where GoT was shot). The path lead mostly over some grassy lawns and fields. The path is always clearly visible, no worries to get lost. It's just a fantastic spot. You could stop every few meters to take in the landscape and views. Amazing. At the Hartland Quay is also a pub, if you need a drink after your walk. Or some ice cream. It's also where Top Gear was shot. In Ep. 4 on season 15. Jezzas Citroen CX Break Motorhome is sent here over the cliff. Breaking into pieces on impact down at the beach. A fun episode. All in all a fantastic spot. And one of the best walks we've had on this years Road Trip through the UK.

I have mixed feelings about this attraction situated right next to Ilfracombe Harbour…read more Its a really small building and once in there you are kind of heaved round by the crowd due to the logistics - it would have nice to have had time to be more aimless in our exploration. Don't come here expecting a 'Sealife centre' its not the case, not at all commercialised, and very much focused on the localised area only. Think starfish and small shrimps rather than sharks and Sea turtles and you will avoid dissapointment!! The tanks take you on a journey along the coast of Ilfracombe with each segment dedicated to a different environment and habitat. You can find out exactly what sealife lives in the harbour, the streams, and on the wonderful Island of Lundy. There are free quiz sheets for children, and the staff do come round to talk to you about the occupants and you can watch them being fed. On the one hand it was nice to see something that was unspoilt by mainstream pressures of commercialisation. On the other you did leave feeling that you wanted more - its just not big enough to keep your attention for long. Really impressed with the work they do in the local area towards conservation and we did leave fired up to go exploring the nearby rock pools. Also they seemed to employ staff with a keen interest in environmental issues and particularly students of the field - which was both encouraging and helpful. Probably more a place for an educational visit or for enthusiasts. I do appreciate what they are trying to do here - but I think for most you would be left feeling that you could see fish with a bigger 'wow' factor at the local pet store. It did only cost a couple of quid entrance, but allow only about 2 hours max to see everything on offer. Don't go in here if you get claustrophobic its very cramped and gets very stuffy.

We went in to ask about a replacement fin for a second hand board we had bought elsewhere. We knew the type of fin was an Australian type that was difficult to get. The guy he hind the counter spent 10 mins ringing around contacts asking if they could help us , because he didn't have any. No one else did either so he found a web site for us to order some from. How's that for customer service. Use these guys they are great

Absolutely amazing place! Instructors were very polite, professional and helpful as were all the staff in the trust. Grounds and facilities are well maintained and clean. The room was well equipped and cleaned daily. Grounds are quiet, so one can get a good rest following a packed activity day. Food was served in a canteen-style setting. Choice was good and overall the quality was ok. Portion sizes sometimes were on the small side.

The equipment was in good nick and clean and apart from a lack of showers, the place was friendly and not 'too cool for school' as you sometimes get. This beach was a pleasant surprise. We just came for a bit of beach feeling, but didn't expect a…read morewide, clean and massive beach like this. The parking lot was packed, a bit of waiting was necessary. But after about 10' time we got a spot. It's a long way to the water, but that also mean there's space for everybody. Even though very well visited, it didn't feel packed on the beach itself. People having picnic, doing sports, chilling, walking, playing...there's room for everybody. The water itself is quite cold, but is a welcome refresher on a hot day. And it can get pretty hot in summer. The best part about this beach is the fact that it's dog friendly. Even in high season all day! Our English Bulldog and us really enjoyed the afternoon at this beach. Great place to be. And a wonderful restaurant (Life's a Beach) right next to. Just be aware: The dry sand can be scary hot. Carry your dog until you reach the wet sand.
