Location: up on the hill with amazing views of the spit, water, volcanoes, etc.. A little further from downtown and definitely not walkable, but the views were worth it. They also sometimes have moose and various birds on the front lawn. Room: We stayed downstairs in the connected Portside and Starboard rooms. There were 3 of us, so this was more comfortable than just one room. There were 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full sized kitchen with refrigerator and stove, and a small patio area. No living room area so any social activities (such as playing a game or cards) would be done in the kitchen. Beds were comfortable. Heater was adjustable. Each room had a TV with cable. You could hear people walking above you, but it was not too disturbing. It was a bit odd that there were wine shelves in the bathroom. Shower had warm water. Overall, the rooms were clean and had nice personal touches. Breakfast: you eat breakfast in the main house with other guests and the hosts, Steve and Juxia. Juxia cooks breakfast which for us was a fritatta, coffee (which Steve is focused on perfecting, although is a bit elusive about his 'blend'), reindeer sausage, yogurt with fruit on top, and delicious homemade wheat bread with strawberry compote spread. It was great meeting the other guests. Hospitality: Steve and Juxia were great. They greeted us when we arrived and sat us down to tell us about the area and pay the bill. Their house has dozens of beautiful keepsakes, each with its own story. There is a large screen TV with hundreds of movies. The hosts welcome you into their main home to watch tv, play the piano or hear more about local attractions. Both hosts were very friendly and full of information. They also love their dog, a collie, who is showcased in all their brochures/emails. Website has a lot of information, but could use an upgrade. Prices were very reasonable, at least in the winter. They have a beautiful garden to walk through and a nice seating area to drink outside. The workers are super and talkative which makes the whole experience.

Oddities: When I made my reservation, I was asked for my CC number to reserve the house. When I arrived, I was informed that they did not take CC???? I thought I was renting the house, but discovered i was only renting rooms in the house and that potentially my kids and I could be sharing common areas. Fortunately no one else showed up and we had the run of it. Regardless of the oddities, it was an outstanding weekend and our host Claudia was wonderful.

Our host Lori was fantastic. She was knowledgeable, genuinely friendly and very welcoming. She went out of her way to ensure that we had a wonderful stay recommending several things to see, places to eat and even helped us put together an unforgettable tour of the Kilcher homestead nearby. The room was a bit small but comfortable. As I indicated earlier, the view was fantastic. The bed was excellent and the bedding fresh and clean. There is a large kitchen downstairs available if you want to prepare your own meals. I enjoyed the self serve breakfast with the well stocked fridge which I could access on my timeline early in the morning. There is a full sized fridge, a coffee maker and a microwave upstairs if you don't want to come downstairs to the main kitchen/dinning area. We found the fridge and the coffee maker useful upstairs. Bottom Line: I highly recommend this B&B for lodging in Homer. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Very friendly proprietor, who met us when we checked in and gave us tips on things to do (and even offered to take care of laundry if needed!). I can't, in good faith, give it a 5-star review because it lacked amenities I would expect from a 5-star hotel, but it was a solid, relatively inexpensive place that met our needs.

The tempurpetic mattress is so comfortable. There is a choice of jacuzzi tub, or shower. She has a large assortment of bath gels, shampoos, rinses, creams and emollients. It was so nice, it was hard to leave it daily to explore other areas of Homer. Marcela was a perfect hostess. If you are planning to visit Homer, I strongly suggest checking out Cozy Inn. It sleeps 4. I would love to return to Homer in the future and will no doubt plan my trip around the Cozy Cove availabilities.

This is about as close as you're going to get. We slept in a bed in a room on the first floor of this gigantic house. We arrived late at night. In the morning we walked outside and were stunned by the views! We walked down to the water and were again stunned by the insanely cute/cool cabins. You know the insanely remote, girls-only, tree-house you wanted as a young boy? These kind of fit the bill. I should probably try and stay at them eventually. If you're an uptight travel used to staying in sterile hotels and having your hand-held about every little thing, you should probably check out the Best Western/Holiday Inn/Motel 6 instead. You probably won't like it here.
