As an instructor Casey was very calming and encouraging and made everyone on our team feel good about the fact that we know absolutely nothing about paddle boarding. It also made us feel better about the fact that we were sending expensive cameras out on the water! In a matter of minutes our people were up on their SUPs and out finding their way--it was awesome to see people go from terrified to get on the water to thrilled by what they could do. (This site does not offer access to Lake Huron.) The rental guy was under a nearby shade tree, so we once we figured out who to talk to, he was a master of efficiency, and got us out on the water quickly. Cash and cards are accepted. The price is reasonable. There is a portajohn on site. Food is available nearby. Parking is easy and free. Notably, there is a kayak launch platform that makes it completely easy and straightforward to get in and get out of your boat. No more wading, sloshing, tipping, wet feet, launch anxiety, etc. Once you launch, you can make your way toward a swampy area, or stay in open water. The swampy area offers a great water-level perspective on wetlands and water plants. I'm sure that many people have spotted notable birds and mammals in this area. If you choose the open water, there is lots of room for practicing your kayaking skills or for exploring the banks of the river. You can also head under a couple of bridges. We looked for bats, but didn't see any. Great place. Worth checking out.

Most of the employees are very helpful with anything you need. The only negative thing I have to say is that there's one employee who regularly walks into the locker room when people are changing.
