I hired this agency to help me find a caregiver for my Dad who has Alzheimer's. I live out of…read morestate and was the one paying the bill, but they refused to share the contact information of the caregiver with me, citing that it was their policy. Obviously because of his diagnosis, he had trouble remembering the caregiver's schedule/suggesting tasks for her, etc. He told me the caregiver was also not allowed to drive him to appointments because she "felt uncomfortable with someone else in her car." Finally I wrote to the agency saying I would not be using them (Home Instead is much more transparent/ethical). However, this agency allowed my DAD to hire them directly, knowing his diagnosis, and continues to charge him for the caregiver. I can't speak to the actual quality of his caregiver, who seems young and very nice (but apparently told my dad she "needs the money" so he continues to use her despite aforementioned limitations). Be very wary using them for your loved ones!

They go above and beyond to answer questions and provide the most thorough and pleasant patient experience. I have to come monthly and strangely I look forward to seeing all the faces. Of course there's that one person that you'd rather not see, BUT they're not my normal person so it's ok! I feel safe and taken care of here. I was referred here, and prior to my appointment I was asked to fill out forms. typical forms I'm…read morefamiliar with, all except one about AI recording. after reading I determined I did not consent to this. I submitted all of these and indicated no consent on that form. Their office staff failed to review my forms, however I didn't know that until after my appointment where this recording technology was being used. I didn't not consent to it. the doctor asked at the END of my visit if I could sign this form. I said "no I don't consent to that, I already stated that with the pre appointment forms." she informed me they CANNOT see me anymore unless I consent to it. and that they've implemented this policy and it's required if you want to be seen there. if that's the case I should've had that made clear before the appointment. I was left feeling violated because I was under the impression my direct action of "NO CONSENT" would be respected in a doctors office; they could have said "due to this we won't be able to see you". but no. they waited until the end of my appointment and made me pay for the appointment. despite recording me without consent and direct refusal of consent for recording me. I will not be returning to a clinic that cannot do the job of reviewing these forms properly prior to an appointment. it's negligent and unacceptable. if this were the case of a medical allergy or religious exemption I fear my rights would be violated, all for them to profit off me first. know your rights. be sure you double check your forms. don't sign anything that you don't like. the least they couldve done was tell me prior to my appointment. I would've cancelled it and gone elsewhere. but instead, they kept me on to make money. it's disgusting and violates my rights to privacy and freedom to give/withold consent.

We are placing my 96 and 94 year old parents in Aspen Creek in two days and are thrilled that we are able to place them here. They provide 24 hour care with great pride and respect towards the residents. I have been in and out of the home for a year. I was always warmly greeted by name and encouraged to be near my friend. Despite friendly staff, a promised good staff to patient ratio, and a seemingly good start when my…read moreMom stayed there, the facility failed to keep pace with meeting my Mom's increasing needs as she lost key abilities and suffered increasing frailty. As her body became weaker, more frail and prone to pressure sores, she was still put in a regular dining chair instead of a softer, more supportive reclining chair, contrary to family's repeated requests. When she lost the ability to eat by herself, they failed to assist her to eat nutritionally appropriate foods 'little and often', with the result of rapid, dangerous weight loss. Her behaviour was fearful and withdrawn. Despite numerous requests, they did not provide daily records of how much she had eaten or how often food was offered to her. There was no monitoring or record keeping of her food and liquid intake. The family would have accepted the facility telling us that her needs exceeded their capacity, and recommending that she go into a skilled nursing facility. Instead, they kept insisting that they were meeting her needs, even while Mom was visibly approaching preventable death. Upon the family removing her from this facility, her health immediately began to dramatically improve, with rapid weight gain, and she went on to have a significant period of a good quality of life, enjoying the optimum health possible within the limitations of her medical condition. The logical conclusion is that the preventable elements of her decline (weight loss, frequent falls, being withdrawn) during her time at the facility was due in large part to the neglect she suffered. The family also witnessed other residents having unmet needs, for example residents experiencing falls when no staff were present in the day room, and a lady who was recovering from a stroke being excluded from activities by not having obvious, easy-to-implement, adaptations offered to her.
