Freaking awesome, what Home Depot in the U.S. *used to be* during its glory days, but with a Scandinavian flavor.
This particular location is fairly large, and has an enormous selection. I went there on a recent trip to pick up a few items not common in the states and managed to snag them all in the same place, which I was not expecting. In particular, if you're looking for quality German hand tools, think brands like Wera, they have them in abundance here. I literally salivated over the breadth of the selection they had in the screwdriver and bit section, which was at least 90% of the Wera catalog. Looking for that rare #2 pozidriv screwdriver, in a stubby-style shank? They had them, in abundance!
Also of note, they have a fairly nice garden section and quite a few plants, including a surprisingly good selection of carnivorous plants. I noted some North American pitcher plants, tropical pitcher plants and even some venus fly traps. If only they carried those at the home improvement stores in the states!
Very helpful service at this location, but only when asked, and we were never badgered despite my extensive and aimless wandering through the store for what must have been at least an hour. Again, I'll make the comparison to our domestic Home Depot stores, before they turned to rubbish and started harassing customers to death.
Wish I had found this place earlier, and will definitely be going back on my next trip to Odense. read more
