Perfect for longer stays! I was looking for a two-week accommodation while in Munich, centrally located. Particularly during conference times the hotels in Munich get very expensive. This is a great alternative to the conventional hotels, without the rate changes they force on you during busy times. It is a brand new place located right next to the central train station, Hauptbahnhof. It is designed for longer stays of one week or more so all rooms have a kitchenette and large desk space. The entrance looks like a regular apartment building and the hotel does not have a normal reception area. Instead there is an office on the first floor (one level up) for check-in.
The place is run by a super nice family, at one point they were all in the office working, including the son who was studying for some architecture classes. The manager has some IT background, maybe one of the reasons the Internet was very fast and reliable. (I checked out of a previous place I used in Munich because of the bad Internet connection, so this was really important to me)
Other nice things include an elevator (not always a given in Germany), a laundry room with washer and dryer (requires coins). I had to buy my own detergent, but grocery and other stores are with a few minutes walking distance. read more
