Quaint little wooded parklet that stretches along a section of Wolftrap Creek. Not too much to it…read moresave for a nature trial, some bridges across the creek and its various tributaries, and a few wildlife preserves and signs about the flora/fauna of the area. The park is historically associated with the bridge that FBI double agent Robert Hanssen made a number of dead drops under for his Soviet and later-Russian handlers on multiple occasions from the late-1970s into the early-2000s. The bridge is still there, and more-or-less the park's main attraction, though it is unmarked and easy to miss. Feels like there should be at least a little informational plaque on/near the bridge, but I suppose the county/federal government doesn't want to glorify espionage. Keep in mind that the park is narrow as it hugs the creek, and passes in plain sight of suburban backyards. There are several exit paths to the trail that take you into the adjacent developments; I wouldn't recommend just walking across the brush if not near an exit path despite its proximity. This area gives strong NIMBY vibes and some of the homeowners may chide you for it. Also, there is almost no bus service in these neighborhoods and you will have to walk 30 minutes to get to the nearest metros (Spring Hill/Greensboro).

He later was convicted, sent to Colorado's Supermax prior to dying this past winter. It is eery walking here for these reasons. Other than that a pleasant stroll. Connected to neighborhoods in Vienna, it certainly is safe. Well traveled during day light hours. I used to take my dog down here for walks. Admittedly I miss her but am thankful for those good memories. Was happy to meet a happy dog walking here last week. If you're in the area, this is a nice break from suburban madness.

Great location, and a solid park overall…read more I was hanging around in Falls Church today. This park caught my eye, and I said why not, let's check it out. Word of warning. Narrow turn into the road that leads to the lot for the park. When using Google Maps it seems to direct you a bit further in the main road. Ignore that; make a left when your gut tells you it feels right to. I came around 5 in the evening and the sun was to set soon. So I parked real fast in the semi-vacant lot, skimmed over the play area at front and made a beeline to the nature trail entrance toward the left side. Suffice it to say, never a dull day. Not disappointed to say the least. Walk was long and varied. My first time at this park so I just let my shoes do the walking. Went up the grassy knoll straight ahead, but further in to the side trail on left it gets too muddy. I didn't bring my hiking boots, so I said phooey to that, and surrendered that notion without further ado. Long winding roads down a passing nature trail. I remember crossing a small bridge, and that led into a view of stepping platforms overlooking a river or trial. I hopped on those circular blocks and made it over to the other side with ease. Grand tour of the place and then led into a quaint residential neighborhood. Whilst it was nice, the day was winding down so I had to wave adieu. Back again and a brisk re-hop of the circular land pieces, made sure not to trip or fall into water. Crossed the bridge back. Saw some folks on the way and they were just chilling and passing by. I walked into new and divergent paths that branched out and broke off to new frontiers. I would've loved to follow that trail of cheese down a ways, but alas had to head back. I got lost briefly and that owes to my being green and newcomer and going down too many paths; it's like getting spun around and then asked to point the way. I had Google directions on, so I found my way to the lot eventually after all. Not sure if I caught the sunset, but if not maybe next time. I was just rushed as I had to be somewhere before 6. So I couldn't even stay the hour. But overall, great park and trails. Nothing earth shattering mind you, but a solid and worthwhile nature retreat if ever there was one. I'll definitely swing by at least once again, it seems a good spot as any to bring a dog or pet on the walk!

Nice neighborhood park with picnic areas, restrooms, tennis court, basketball course, a baseball…read morefield and a nature trail. The trail is pretty good for a neighborhood park and goes a decent way as it connects with some others but crossing the stream on the stepping stones can be a little tricky for some people, especially if they're wet. It's worth a look if you're in the area but not really worth a special trip if you have other trails nearby.

There's a small picnic table, that's shaded for those gory hot days. This is park of the Fairfax Connection Trail System. That is impressive, as the path goes north and south throughout the county. Parking is plentiful here. Sometimes I'll drop the car here to bike either way. Do not go to this park during rainy or snowy days. It's a flood zone, and Prosperity Road can be a pain even in the best conditions. There is a small playground for kids to enjoy, along with some basic charcoal type of grills. It is decent but nothing extraordinary.

The trail has lots of trees and seems to be in pretty natural state in the park, which is always a plus. I think the trail is the biggest attraction here, otherwise it's a nice local park if you live in the area.

The playground is small compared to the nearby Clemyjontri park but the "brand new" facility is attractive to kids. There are trails nearby as well which we may come back for another time. The trail is very beautiful and the majority of it is canopied by trees in the woods. There are certain patches that have open areas and there are several adjoining paths that will meander into the one you're on. You will also cross over the streams a few time but there are either bridges or stepping stones. In the heat my pup takes the water side but in the cold he is on the stones. You will definitely see some wildlife on these trails. We have seen deer, foxes, herons, turkey vultures and even a few snakes, eewww. At night this place is bumpin with more deer & foxes (very chatty in the dark, lol) plus raccoons, possums, skunks, & coyotes. Yep! and in the colder months you can sometimes hear them at night. There has been talk of other exotic wildlife but nothing confirmed... yet! ;) Come enjoy the beautiful, great outdoors! It's soooo awesome!

At some point, we either exited last the signs (pictured) or walked along the footpath past the signs at least once while exploring the various parts of the park. Overall, the trails are natural and easy to navigate, and mostly shaded by gorgeous mature trees. Street parking seems to be the norm which wasn't an issue. I'm grateful that there are folks out there making efforts to preserve green spaces like this. I hope these parks will be around forever.

The walking trails around Nottoway Park are lovely for a stroll with your dog. It's not as crowded…read moreas other parks (which makes social distancing easier). If you drive past the yellow Hunter House and curve right to the last parking lot, you'll find the entrance to a giant soccer/lacrosse multi-purpose field. The wooded trails here are nice and will take you back toward the softball fields and Curry Field (artificial turf). Nottoway has restrooms near the picnic area (which has a playground that's nice for kids). On the other side, you'll see two more baseball fields and then a series of tennis courts in the distance. I have nice memories of this park when my two sons (15 years, 13 years) played on the baseball fields for Vienna Little League. I think a highlight of this park is that it is not overly crowded on Saturday afternoons.
