When asked what I was looking for online I specifically said 2012 Sea Doo GTR215 and they showed me one battery that fit and I purchased it for out the door price of $66.25. When I arrived at the store with my old battery to pick it up it was visibly half the size and obviously the wrong battery overall. The clerk then keyed in the exact description as mine and came back with two matches, both were over the price I paid by $100 or more. I needed the battery then so I purchased one of them for an additional $101.78 out the door. Because of their illegal 'BAIT AND SWITCH' I ended up paying $168.03 instead of the agreed on price of $66.25. read more

Went in there for a battery for my cheap watch, they wouldn't sell me one unless they could upcharge me to change it. I don't need them to charge me to change a battery that is no harder to change than the tv remote, I need them to sell me a $5 watch battery. I will never go there again. read more

Called to have an iPhone 11 battery replaced and was told there were two in stock. Arrived as they opened the next day and the same employee looked at the system and told me yep two in stock but let me check because the other day we had none, sure enough none available. I was really pleased with this store. On the surface, my visit to Batteries Plus might not sound like much to get excited over: I needed a watch battery, and, after showing the clerk what I needed, I got my new battery. Though, my satisfaction came from the store itself, which was, simply, good -- a nice storefront, genuinely friendly service, a reasonable price (and on-site recycling of my old, dead battery, even). Given how easy it is to have a bad experience at a business, in any number of ways, I consider such an all-around positive transaction to be something to smile about, however "small" and routine that transaction might be. I purchased 2 batteries in November 2017 for my mother in laws new electric wheelchair. It has only been used it a couple of times. I took the batteries back to Batteries Plus Bulbs in North Myrtle Beach and was told they will recharge them over night and call me. Two days later I called them and was informed that only 1 battery was recharged and its going to take longer for the other battery. 1 week later I called and was informed that the one battery is dead and I will have to buy a new one. I explained that these are just 1 year old and only used a couple times that something is defective if only one recharges. The employee on the phone said he can do nothing but leave a note for Chris the manager to call me.   3 weeks later I went to the store to get the batteries. Still no call from the store. I arrive and explain I left 2 batteries here to be recharged. Employee Chris brings them to the counter and says 'The batteries are no good, 2 years old and out of warranty you'll have to buy 2 new ones". What happened to the one battery they said DID charge a week ago?? I replied, "As you can see, the activation stickers are 10/30/2017 and that's not 2 years old". Chris raised his voice and said "that's 2 years old, defective or not it's your problem". I asked to speak to the manager and Chris said "NO". I asked what's the corporate phone number? Chris said "go look it up". I asked "Why are you acting like this"and he mocked me repeating "Why are you acting like this? Take your batteries and get out, you are not a customer". Feeling Chris' anger was getting far too escalated, I took the batteries and got in my car. I called the corporate office as I was sitting in the car, Chris was at the store window staring at me.   I am over 50 years old and cannot recall ever being treated so rudely and having such a bad product experience. Nor can I recall ever feeling so abused by a retail experience that I felt the need to follow up with customer service, the Better Business Bureau and my next call to the Chamber of Commerce. $140 for 2 batteries that last less than 13 months with 2 or 3 uses with NO warranty or pro-ration?? To top it off, the rudest/most intimidating retail person ever encountered?   One of my hobbies requires extensive specialty lighting for which I 'burn' batteries. It's cheaper and just about as fast to buy online, but we always try to support our local businesses. It's embarrassingto have this business in North Myrtle Beach and I'll never purchase there again. You can be sure I will tell everyone I know not to go there either. read more

Quick repair work Never noticed it before but battery and light sellection is really extensive. I will have to keep it in mind since we are moving here and will eventually need more supplies. I dropped my phone by accident, and screen is cracked. I decided transfer to new phone but couldn't open screen so asked help. The tech said that only way to transfer is "fix the screen". And price is $299.99. I and my husband already know that is not true. It can be just simply connect with USB line. We understand its business, but if he explain their shop working, We wouldn't guess about their knowledge/profession/honesty. It was one of our busy day, we know it is simple work, try to simply transfer things. We work out the Batteries Plus Bulbs north myrtle beach shop, went to Walmart, spent $16.00 for USB cord and a mouse, take 20min, we transfer things ourselves. We disappointed this shop very much, especially their honesty. We wouldn't recommended this store. read more

I took two Seiko watched in to have them looked at because neither was working at the time. They replaced the battery in one and it would not work even after the replacement. After some time with the second watch trying to get it to work, the employee called his boss for help. There was a mildly heated discussion between them. After a short time, the boss returned with the watch and said they do not work on solar watches. We subsequently took both watches to another jewelry service provider. The battery was replaced on the first one and it worked fine. The second watch would require over $250 in repair because the employee at Batteries Plus had opened the watch (we watched him struggle and finally get it open) and damaged it to the extent that movement would have to be replaced. We called the store and the manager said that his employees are not trained to work on or open a solar watch, even though we watched the two of them personally. As they were unable to handle a simple battery replacement on one watch and took action that the manager said they are trained not to do on the other causing serious damage, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere for any watch work. read more

After going to the "genius" apple store they lied to me and said they couldn't even fix my phone because my charge port was broken. Batteries plus staff cleaned it out for free works fine, fixed my screen and gave me half price on a new battery all within an hour. Very reasonably priced, fast and nice. Congratulations! read more

Called and asked for lithium ion batteries in AA with a charger, guy said they have them so I went there. I think his name was Nathan, sold me 4 pack with a charger and an extra 4 pack for keeping on charge. Took them home and left them on the "1 hour" charger all that day and night, tried them and they didn't work. Took the other 4 and put them on charge for several hours and they didn't work, probably charger issue. So I put them all in a bag and returned to the store, same guy, long reddish brown hair and beard, ask me what the problem was. I said simply they didn't work. He immediately gets defensive saying You asked for AA and that's what I gave you!. I then said it has nothing to do with the AA the f..ing batteries don't work. He agains says well you asked for AA and that's what I gave you. I then told him again, it has nothing to do with AA the batteries don't work, and also I asked for Lithium Ion and these aren't that. He says they are to, so I said show me on the packages where it says that, says NIMH where he then says Uh. He got a real attitude and said I was cussing him and he'd just give me a refund, no offer of exchange, actual lithium batteries, nothing. I said I'm not cussing you ( I had cussed but not him) and he says then I need to choose my words better where I told him he needed to listen better. Guy had a real attitude before I got there, having a bad day but this is not what you expect from a store that wants your money. read more
