The decor style leans towards farmhouse chic, which is not my style, but I can still appreciate the huge amount of effort in this shop. The store is meticulous. If the decor is your taste, you could easily outfit multiple rooms and do some serious damage! With everything from artwork to kitchen wares, you could easily find some treasures. If you're waiting on a pick-up order for food from Woodstock, this is a great choice to browse. Something I found unique is that in the back of the store you can find them cultivating small plants and sunning air plants. That was such a fun surprise, so make sure you adventure to the very back of the store! The associates are really helpful and the candles smell great. The amazingly friendly workers said they could make custom ones for my kids! So we went home with a custom blue and custom pink elephant we saw being made for the same price an existing one would have been. What great service and value! The second time I visited the shop was to pick up the free wax melts that were a part of the Dutch host inn package. Since it was just me I was able to ask about the candles. They pour all of them right there! There was a great selection of sizes, scents and jars. I love that they have lilac, basically my ultimate favorite scent. It can be harder to find. I left with a giraffe candle and a lilac candle (in addition to my wax melts). The shop does take credit cards but there is a four percent fee if you pay that way. If you are going to Walnut Creek farms it is right down the street from the entrance. Definitely worth a visit and a place I'll be back to!

During a recent visit to complete our annual Christmas candle shopping, my wife, children, and I had a highly unprofessional experience involving an employee named Amanda. When we asked basic customer service questions--specifically about available gift sets and whether we could check out--we were met with unnecessary rudeness and dismissive behavior. Her words and actions made it clear that we were unwelcome in the store. This visit occurred within the final hour before closing, which may explain the treatment we received, but regardless of timing, customers should not be made to feel unwelcome or uncomfortable for asking routine questions. Unfortunately, the issue did not end there. Several days later, we contacted the store to report our experience. Amanda answered the phone and stated that there was no one overseeing management at the location and refused to provide contact information for any supervisor or corporate office. My wife did not identify herself during this call, so there was no indication that Amanda knew she was speaking with the same customer from the prior visit. On a subsequent call, I again spoke with Amanda and was provided a generic Gmail address as the only point of contact for someone allegedly overseeing the location. During this same conversation, Amanda stated she was working alone, which was later determined to be untrue, as the individual whose email address she provided was physically present in the store at that time. Eventually, I did receive a callback from the individual currently overseeing the store. I was informed that the store manager was terminated earlier this year and the position has not been filled. Despite assuming managerial duties, this individual stated he is not authorized to coach employees, address performance concerns, or take corrective action. No apology was offered for our in-store experience. Additionally, I was informed that there are no formal processes or training in place at this location related to customer sensitivity, diversity awareness, emergency situations, or incident escalation to corporate leadership. This lack of oversight and structure is concerning from both a customer service and safety standpoint. Based on this experience, it appears there is little to no accountability or management oversight at this location. As a result, I cannot recommend shopping here and will not be returning.

And that is putting it mildly. My family and I were treated as almost an inconvenience, which is terribly sad as this is one of our favorite places to shop for candles and Christmas. I have worked retail/customer service since I was 16, I have dealt with everything under the sun you can think of. Our very normal shopping experience is not one that I would even remember in all my years. It is not one I could even recall. Especially with a small family business such as Swan Creek, you would think they value any and everyone coming in to spend their hard earned money on their products. One of their employees clearly felt otherwise and in front of my children made an (extremely uncomfortable to say the least) scene. Trying to talk to anyone since this incident has been like pulling teeth. I understand policies must be in place, but it has been made very clear that they do not have any procedures in place to handle something like this. Which is wonderful on one hand, meaning they don't often deal with this, and horrible on the other hand because it leaves customers on their own, with zero support from a small family business. All we asked for was follow up on training for employees, and an apology. I have never left a negative review in my life, but since no one would like to address this issue, it feels like my only resort. I'm not sure why, but I still have faith that maybe someone higher up will follow through, however it has not happened yet.

I just had the worst blowout experience of my life at this Ulta. Where do I begin? I'll try... I'm traveling for work and told the stylist, Brenna, I had a work event tonight and wanted to look nice. I wanted a normal, volumized blow out with soft/bigger curls, which I get often... it was a disaster on all fronts. Granted, Brenna is probably a newly licensed stylist, however, I feel like Ulta should be training their stylists better to prevent things like this from happening. First, I have thick hair. Every stylist I've ever had shampoos my hair twice to ensure the scalp was reached, especially when you are going for a volumized blow out... the scalp needs to be cleaned and not weighed down! Instead, the stylist shampooed my hair once and didn't touch my scalp. She barely touched my head, in fact. My hair literally felt gross afterwards. Her conditioning took 5 seconds. Total bowl time was less than 5 minutes and I have a TON of hair. One of the reasons I go to Ulta when travelling for blowouts is I can count on the scalp/bowl massage... Did not get that this time at all. Such a bummer. Then, we hit the chair. She blow dried my hair for nearly two hours and it's still wet. I'm NOT a hair stylist but I know how to do a blow out (get the hair 80% dry then start using a round brush). She did none of that. For nearly two hours, she used a DRYBAR electric brush dryer and when one stylist asked her if she liked the tool, she said "no, her hair keeps getting Stuck in it." Like, isn't that your que to stop using it? ugh. And, with every section she touched, she lathered my hair with a leave in conditioner spray. I am all for products, but this made it even heavier (why would you do that when the goal is volume, light and bouncy)! My hair literally looks like crap. It's frizzy. It's still wet!!!! She didn't talk the entire time, either which just made it awkward. At the end, I ended up tipping 20%, but I am a HUGE tipper, because I truly value people`s time and talents. Had she done a decent job or even asked for help, I would have tipped this girl better. I just felt like she didn`t care, and neither did anyone else who saw the outcome. I'm sure she's new but someone should have stepped in to help Brenna or salvaged my hair. I'm Literally going back to my hotel to wash this crap out of my hair and dry it correctly. A total waste of $52 and 2.5 hours!
