I was referred to this medical establishment by a kind doctor at the Franciscan urgent care. If I…read morecould rate the podiatry experience it is a zero star, that is exactly what I would give it. I do not recommend this place to anyone who is having trouble with their feet. If you are diabetic or just struggle with feet issues, my dear people, please go to another place. I was referred for an ingrown toe nail that needed corrected to avoid further issues later. I was recommended to prevent any further problems with my feet. I did what I could to nurse my foot but it still hurts and that is not normal. I do have diabetes and I worry about this stuff. The urgent care doctor did not recommend a X-Ray and made it crystal clear that it was not necessary. If it was necessary, he would have done it at the urgent care. So with that said ,Dr Mayer unfortunately did not exhibit professionalism and showed anyway that she cared about my foot. She wanted to quickly tell me what to do instead of listening to me. I did get a bit frustrated and did not want to waste time listening to a menu of options when I already knew from previous professional what was needed. Yes, no thank you madam. She wanted to be heard too but over talking me was not going to get her heard. I am the patient and I will make it clear with all doctors. If I feel coerced or disrespected, or even my problems dismissed I will walk away from any visit. Please stop playing the victim card on patients! I do not deal well with that characteristic. If she was a great doctor, I am not convinced that day with how she treated me. She needs to learn to get her priorities in order and understand all patients are different. She accused me of being hostile and even aggressive in a patient report. I just think it is fair to say that she may have had some aggressive patients in past experiences maybe in her short time and get a bit confused with those patients now when she receives a patient like me. My husband and son came to this appointment and they did not witness me being hostile or aggressive. They have seen me mad before but I do not act in violence. Emotions are ok and justified as long as no harm is done. I'm disabled and short stature and cannot do much. With my voice I do empower and advocate for myself in healthcare. This is my body and I will speak up and hope others will. I do not have any intention to hurt or harm anyone but hey you will not mistreat me in any shape or form either! I have totally lost my desire to step foot in any Franciscan or Virginia Mason brand of medical until I see that they put better priorities on patients. The podiatrist in this office totally was not understanding and treated me underneath her and less of a human. Honestly if I own a beloved dog or cat. I love animals like cute little babies. Honey, sweet heart or sugar dumplings, I would not send my animals there. Yelpers there are other options. I am deeply concerned about other patients going there. Also, I want to add that these people who work together at Virginia Mason/Franciscan will stand and uphold one another even if that individual is wrong. I did complain but that was a waste of time. I did call my family doctor and quickly got another referral somewhere else. My referral was a podiatrist that my husband has seen. My family doctor even offered to see me in if the new podiatrist could not get me in. But I am going next week. I know this podiatrist so I am going to be fine. I now have to be concerned in the back of my mind if my health will be taken as seriously as I take it. This experience is kind of traumatic and I am concerned about other people these days too. But as a community we are strong and better days will come. Please stand up for health and do not be coerced into things or allow others to overtalk you. It does not matter their credentials It is subtle abuse. I recommend taking a spouse, family or friend to doctor appointments. Again look at options yourself.

Don't go if you don't already know what your problem is. The person I saw looked my feet over,…read moredidn't find anything immediately and obviously wrong, and told me to keep buying different shoes and orthotics until I figured something out myself. That man needs to be in a profession that doesn't affect people's lives and livelihoods.

Dr Barrett was very nice and did see my daughter on somewhat short notice for an ingrown toenail…read more When I made the appt the staff was very nice and had me fill out paperwork online, to which they gave me the site, the username, and the password. I filled everything using my iPad. The website was no very user-friendly using my iPad but I figured it out. At no point did anyone or the website tell me to print any paperwork, so when I got to the office I was asked for the printed copies and when I did not have them I basically filled out the same paperwork again. Not that big of a deal, just a little irritating. The doc then looked at my daughters toe for about 5 seconds and told us that he was going to have to remove it, no big deal, I figured as much. No gloves were used, I understand old school docs do this but I also did not see hands washed. I think I may have heard a sink in the hall but I'm not sure. My daughter was very nervous and Dr Barrett tried to ease her mind and was good at that even though it took over an hour of coming and going to numb her toe. I understand that too, he had to see other patients in between , but nothing like that was ever explained to us. Instead, his nurse kept coming in saying, did he numb it yet? Of course our answer was no because we had only been there 2 hours! The procedure was not explained well and aftercare was barely explained at all other than there are two ways to care for it, the old way and the new way. The old way of soaking that I was told nobody likes and it was very old fashion and not as good as the new way. The new way with this gel, that they sell, was much better and had better results. They then tell you the gel is 50 dollars, but at that point I would basically be a horrible mom for not paying, right? So I pay and get written instructions. The instructions talk about a wash that is supposed to come with the 50 dollar gel, but you don't get or get told about so at this point I'm praying this means she won't get an infection. I'm a worried mom who is also a nurse so I look up the wash to buy, and on the brand website the wash is relatively cheep, $15, but the gel is also on there and is only $20! I feel a bit ripped off, especially since I work for the government and am working for free right now. I am pretty upset that this stuff is pushed and is totally a ripoff. I know this review is long and I normally don't leave reviews but I feel people need to know, so I hope it helps someone get the updated directions and buy online.

I've been to see Dr. Barrett for help with plantar fasciitis in my feet. He was very knowledgeable…read moreand helpful in taking care of my problem (plantar fasciitis). He used a combination of injection, stretches and orthotics. Now I am back to running again pain free. The office is very professional and they usually run on time or very close to on time. I think the longest I waited was 20 minutes. Sometimes it got a little busy and crowded when both doctors were in at the same time, but not too bad. I was very happy with the new orthotics I got (and they were only $360 not $500 like the last ones I got!). They are very comfortable and I put them in all of my shoes, not just for running. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Barrett.
