I think the key thing to note for first-timers is that this is a (very) small market, but what they lack in size, they make up for in quality! When I was there, I picked up two of the strongest local cheeses (one sheep's cheese, one cow's cheese), along with the local duck foie gras which is prepared with salt + pepper only. The prices seem to be reasonable, in fact quite reasonable, for locally-grown and crafted products. I didn't get to pick up any fruit/veggies today, though expect to pick some up in a couple of days. So happy to support local producers and businesses - it's a much more pleasant and authentic experience than going to the Carrefour or Casino Marché!

My mother in law who grew up in the town remembers shopping there as a child when the great grandmother of the current owner was the boss. Everyone in town goes to Sajous for their quality meats, be it beef, lamb, veal, pork or chicken, which are all raised in the region. With meat from Sajous you can turn any ordinary meal into a standout one, especially if you have a grill handy. Special mention as well for their slim homemade sausages which are just divine!
