There is no one size fits all when it comes to diagnosing and I love that she is so personable. The tests she recommended helped to figure out what was going on in my body. She took it a step further and recommended a specific treatment plan just for me including supplements and nutrition. Having a holistic plan was the most important piece to me and I truly valued all of her resources she provided in helping me heal. I was referred to RCBM in 2022 for my son, who was 11 years old at the time. I want to emphasize…read morethat my son has never been seen by a psychiatrist--not even once. We have only ever met with a Physician Assistant (PA). While I respect the role of a PA, I believe that when prescribing powerful medications such as antipsychotics to a child, a psychiatrist should be directly involved and meet the patient at least once to oversee treatment decisions. To provide context: A psychiatrist completes approximately 12-14 years of education and training, whereas a PA typically completes 6-7 years including clinical experience. Psychiatrists are trained to diagnose, prescribe, and manage treatment comprehensively. PAs, while skilled, generally assist and have more limited prescribing authority. Given these differences, I expected a psychiatrist to be involved in my son's care, especially considering the complexity of his case. My son was diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and anxiety by RCBM. Over time, he was prescribed multiple medications, yet we saw little improvement. Eventually, a therapist from another organization suggested that my son might be autistic. When I raised this with the PA, he disagreed. I sought further evaluation from a neurologist, who confirmed that my son is autistic (high-functioning). This experience has left me questioning the accuracy of the initial diagnoses and the appropriateness of the treatment plan provided by the PA without psychiatrist oversight. I recently reached out to RCBM to ask if we can schedule an appointment with the doctor himself and here is the correspondence: "Dear Aleshia, After a thorough review of Blake's clinical information, our team has determined that, unfortunately, we are not able to meet his current level of care needs at this time. We believe he would benefit from a provider or facility that offers a higher level of support to best address his treatment goals." I responded: I'm truly surprised and confused by this situation. All I did was request that my son be seen by the doctor. Is the doctor not qualified to work with minors who have depression and anxiety? This is very concerning. For over two years, my son has been treated by a PA "under the doctor's supervision", yet now it seems the doctor himself does not know how to manage a child with these conditions. Does the doctor only prefer to work with patients who do not have mental health challenges? My son is not non-verbal, difficult, or a special case--he simply needs appropriate care. I find this situation deeply troubling. It appears that individuals who may not have been fully qualified to manage my child's mental health have repeatedly prescribed medication without ever informing me that my son might need a higher level of care. This lack of communication and oversight has caused significant distress for my son and our family. I am seriously questioning whether this constitutes negligence and whether legal action may be warranted. I will be looking into this and would hope that you guys are prepared to answer back on this because I WILL fight for my child and someone will answer to the hell that they have put my son and our family through.

I also now see the dietitian who is fantastic, and the weight management PA, who was very nice and professional too. I find the zoom meetings to be SO very convenient with my busy life. This is a huge positive!!! They are very prompt when replying to messages in the patient portal. I also am satisfied after every visit with each provider. I would absolutely recommend RCBM.

Dr. Young helped by giving me options of treating my ADHD with therapy or different kind of meds if i wanted to go down that route. If you're surprised by negative reviews of Dr. Young, you just have to give it some time, and you'll probably have your own story to tell, too. As so many other people have reported, the first thing he did was test me for ADD, and then put me on Adderall. From what I've seen in other reviews of him, he tries to put everyone on Adderall. Dr. Young failed to ascertain that I had high blood pressure when he prescribed the Adderall for me. The result of Adderall was that it increased my blood pressure incredibly and dangerously high, where on one occasion, I had to go to the hospital emergency room, otherwise I could've died. When I ended up opening up with Dr. Young, I lost my job and career because of it. Everything I worked my entire life for. Talking to him did me much more harm than good, and it really seems like he was looking out for the patient second, and himself first. His overreactions and poor exercise of professional judgment were without question, harmful. Afterwards, RCBM "washed their hands of me". As a result, I am in a far worst place than I ever would have been had I never been treated by Dr. Young. He ended up causing me much more emotional trauma than I originally had, and am still dealing with the ramifications of how poorly he handled my care and treatment, and that additional trauma, but under more competent care. Specifically, I had a work related injury. He failed to advocate for his patient with the employer, which negatively impacted my worker's compensation claim for the injury, where by his involvement, the employer was allowed to continue to harass and victimize me. The standard of cate was lacking, and Dr Young failed to advocate for his patient. When I was in counseling there, it was very apparent that the therapist barely was aware of my case including very basic facts, and was very unprepared to do any kind of therapy with me whatsoever, to the point of being a waste of time and money. I have lost my job, my career, and am unemployeble. By the end of September, I will be homeless. Thank you Dr. Young for ending my career and making all of this possible. Sorry RCBM, No amount of explaining here can undo the damage caused to me, my mental and emotional health, or my life by how you fumbled everything at a very critical point in my life! For me, RCBM got it all totally wrong.

Dr. Amann is exceptionally kind, patient and knowledgeable in her field. My patients never feel rushed and, unlike many other psychiatrists, she is not a "pill pusher" but actually listens to the patient; helping them identify coping skills. Each patient has an individualized plan, she is careful on which medication would be best and never fails to continually assess the effectiveness and make changes when warranted. I gladly refer anyone to Dr. Amann.

I assumed that was no big deal until we were given the results. It was very obvious that this person had not read any of the information we submitted about my daughter. Treatments were suggested for issues we did not have and things we were already doing were recommended, clearly this "test" was not helpful in any way. It was basically a sales pitch for treatments that I was not interested in. My daughter attended this meeting and was brought to tears because of what was said about her. It was not the right fit for my family and I caution anyone to really do some research before they decide where to look for help.
