Have you seen tree branches on a zipline? My HOA granted permission for removal of a very large Magnolia tree located between my front porch and my neighbor's home. This tree was dangerously close to our home and I spoke with several other local companies about the extra care this job would require. Bob, one of Bartlett's arborists visited our yard and provided an estimate within hours of his visit. He even agreed to remove some old small-ish pine logs near our backyard, free of charge. Sam and Ellise, were the tree pro's who climbed our Magnolia and we were wow'ed by their ziplining of the tall branches down to the wood chipper. They used sleds to haul larger fallen pieces and it was amazing to watch. This job created alot of debris but they were very respectful of our and our neighbor's yards, and did a super clean up job. Bartlett is of the best in their business. They show up quickly, provide u an estimate, and the work is often scheduled and done within a week. Madolin visited our home to assess a diseased large oak tree - it had to come down and they did so at a reasonable price within a week. Bob Andreucci, Batlett's arborist, gave us an estimate, we accepted, and they where at the house about 1 week later to do the work. We liked working with Bob Andreucci because he is efficient, diligent, and personable. He came when the work was being done. The boys who did the pruning did a very good job. I called several tree companies on Hilton Head, and either they didn't return the call or they said they would come to the property , and they didn't. Bartlett gets the work done. read more

We have used Bartlett twice in the past year on two of our properties in Hilton Head, SC and will continue. They removed 8 trees and cleaned up 11 trees on this last project. The rep that was sent out to give us an estimate was friendly and very detailed in terms of services that could be offered. He was also extremely patient with all of our questions. The work crew that came out a few days later was terrific. Not only did they work their butts off and did an excellent job, but they were cheerful, friendly and also patient with questions and comments. One month later, and still no follow through. I was excited to have their services after meeting them at the local home show. They came out April 5th, and sent an alternate person to meet with me. Apparently the tree expert "had some change of plans" per them. The young man that came out was nice enough, but wasn't who I was expecting. And, he agreed to get back with me on pricing for planting a row of azaleas, and also to take a soil test. After over 1 week, I didn't hear anything, so, I emailed them. They responded that the "soil test takes a while". I said, OK, and hoped they would get back to me soon. And still, I never heard a word about that, or pricing and planting my azaleas either. Well, it is now 1 month (May 5th) since they came out the first time. No word...no follow through...and still no soil test or azaleas. Nothing else for that matter either as I had hoped to talk with them about other trees and plantings. What a disappointment! They come across so professional, yet, are exactly the opposite. I could've had these things done by someone else already, had I not been waiting patiently for these folks. I will never use them, nor recommend them to anyone. And that is too bad, because being in sales and service myself, I like giving good companies kudos and telling others to use them. I know how important it is. read more

I've tried to use Barlett on three different occasions. I know they do good work because I have seen it done. But on all three occasions, their bids were 3x more than the other two or three companies I gave the opportunity to bid. The other two companies were not no-name companies on the island. They were all well known. The reason for my one star review is that these people are ripping you off. Plain and simple. There is no way they are not ripping you off when three companies bids put together were cheaper than Barlett's bid on the same job!!!! Unless you have enough money to wipe your own you know what with, please take the time and shop around for a few more prices. You will save some money and will also see that I'm not just another upset customer, I'm telling you the truth. read more
