It is unique because the children of Arlington not only named the playground, they created and planned it too. My three year old loves the mini FedEx planes and the double swings. My 9 and 11 year old love the playhouse. We usually take a lunch and eat under the shade trees and stay for a few hours. It's a great way to spend the day!

It has tons of parking available is is home to a 1-mile paved loop trail, shelters, lots of green space, and a lake. They also claim that the 18-hole golf course, Memphis Botanic Gardens (separate admission cost), and Leftwich Tennis Center are park of the park as well. Some sections of the park were closed while I was there, but I still got to see a large portion. The lake is decent and has benches and picnic tables along its permitter for visitors to sit. The area is pretty well shaded. I am not sure if it is stocked or not but there were quite a few people fishing there during my visit. I did not see anyone pull anything though. The park is home to some public art sculptures and is part of the national Cancer Survivor Plaza Program. The area I was in had tons of green space. It could be suitable for most field activities including flying a kite, playing football, having a soccer game, or picnic. There was a man using the space as a golf ball driving range while I was there. There are a lot of organized walks hosted at this park. It is a perfect park for this activity. The park's managers tout this place as being perfect for fitness and relaxation and I agree with them. This is a possible destination park, depending on what you are looking to do. I recommend it for novice golfers, hikers and those looking to relax.

Today is Saturday, April 20, 2019…read more I've been searching in the area for different parks. I've come across this particular park. It's nearby a school and I like this location. When you enter where the park is located-which is behind the school there are five bike ramp parking slots for bikes as well as when you enter the drive to the right there are parking spaces for vehicles First thing I like about this park is that it is gated with a fence that goes around the entire border of the park. for obvious reasons I have a toddler and so have it closed and by gate is a big of importance to me. Second thing I like about this park is that I can park my vehicle at about 6 feet away and I can still visually see my vehicle from standing in the middle of the park Also within the park itself there are two sitting areas (benches) for parents, guardians, siblings and caretakers to rest Just to note: that after a rain some areas of the park have standing water which is expected there's a hippo, crocodile and a ladybug on two out of three of those for the kids to play with there's a little bit of standing water -so just be mindful after the rain-when visiting a park as is anywhere else that is an outdoor activity As I stand in the middle of the park I do notice that the make up of the ground is very textured soft cushiony- when kiddos are running around they are not running around on gravel necessarily or asphalt this is a soft cushiony material

There is also a nice set of lighted tennis courts at this park, a shelter with picnic tables and built-in restrooms, a roller hockey court, tons of green space, and two play grounds. The older and smaller playground is located by the picnic shelter. It is on a bed of wood chips and has a medium sized jungle gym with a couple of slides and a rock climbing wall. Thee is also a rocking animal and a bank of traditional swings there too. On the area's perimeter they have placed a couple of benches to sit and watch your littles play. The bigger playground is much newer, on artificial grass, and has a treehouse kind of vibe. It is called Everybody's Tree House and is an inclusive area that consists of a large jungle gym with bridges and slides. The other equipment includes monkey rings, a sit and spin, a climbing wall, climbing nets, some hold and spins, and a sway fun glider. Of course there are places for caregiver to sit while their littles play. It is a very nice area. The park is also home to a large pergola with mushroom style table and chairs. It is is little weathered but still serviceable. You will see a nice field with artificial turf near the big playground. It is a very nice field, but I am unsure if it is actually part of the park. The park has a decent amount of spots available along the main road that it is off of. There is also some parking available on the opposite side. I really like this park. iT is well maintained and has a lot to offer. You could easily spend a half day or more here.
