This is a large middle school. It has 2 levels . The…read morefirst level has principle office, nurse office, assistant principal office, library, lunch room, classroom and gymnasium. The downstairs has classroom and science lab. Also, the health room, art room, Home Ec. Room , the PLTW classroom are also located down here. This school combined students who are from many elementary schools in the district. They have 7 and 8 grade. Each grade belongs to each side of school. The hallway has a line in the middle to help students to travel safely from one class to another. The teachers are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. In some classes, teachers give students second chances to retake tests to improve their grades. Hot lunch is available for all students with reasonable prices. They also have a snack room full of delicious and reasonably priced snacks. The majority students are taking the bus to school. There's an police officer on site during school time. After they finished 8th grade, many students go to different high school based on their home location (such as Bartlett High School, South Elgin High School ) to continue their education and fulfill their goals.

They way the counselor and attendance dean treats the students, it's ridiculous how rude these people are. Almost none of the rules or things taught in this school can be used in real life. Before you think 'Oh he must have been a bad student.', no I actually worked harder to graduate early to get away from this place. Never want to come back here again.

Teachers are knowledgeable and friendly…read more The first floor has Principle office, nurse office, social worker office, lunch room, gymnasium and classrooms from kindergarten to second grade, also the SAFE room and the three Special Ed. Classes. The second floor has classrooms from third to sixth grade and the library. Also, it has the music room and the art room. This school has SAFE program for parents who work early in the morning (6am) or late in the evening (up to 6pm). It's very convenient. The parking lot is average size; however, it is very crowded during drop off and pick up time. In the morning it is very busy at 8:15 am because parents usually drop off their kids 15 minutes before school starts (8:30 am) Many parents choose not to park their car; instead they stay in the car and wait on pick up line. As the result, the parking lot is available but no one can park their car. That causes horrible traffic congestion. To avoid the traffic, try to get there 20 minutes before the classes dismiss (2:30 pm) so you can find a spot to park. There is a sign that says you can't make a left turn out of the guest parking lot between the hours of 8-9 am and 2-3 pm. Also, make sure you are not going into the staff parking lot because it is only for staff and is the bus drop off lane.

(this was a 7 year old special needs child) The principals have broken the law in the past along with a couple teachers by wrongfully accusing a child and parents. The principals are also very weird around parents and keep things from you that are exceedingly important that have to do with your child. I do not recommend this school to anyone. ESPECIALLY if your child has special needs and you would like them in a gen ed classroom.
