However, it needs to be monitored, and Dr. Swain is the specialist that I work with. I have always known that he is a very good doctor. However, I did a presentation in November, 2010 when Dr. Swain was appointed the Cal Wenzel Family Foundation Chair in Hepatology, and I really learned how incredible this man`s credentials are. My experience of him as a doctor, is someone who listens, asks questions, is compassionate, knowledgable and is always honest. Over the years, as alternative health options have been cropping up, I have asked him all kinds of questions regarding my treatment, and he has handled my requests with patience and honesty. Further, in the rare occassion where I have had trouble, he has been accessible. He truly does care about the work that he does, and his patients. He always makes time. In addition to taking on patients, Dr. Swain also holds other responsibilities in his field. Their organization is not the greatest either, as I was finally able to get through to them yesterday, I was told I would receive my prescription refill today-- and to put it lightly, I'm now on 4 days without my daily prescription that is quite dangerous to stop taking, and as of right now, I have been on the line, listening to their line ring for 14 minutes and 27 seconds, to be exact. I guess I will just deal with the life threatening side effects? To make matters worse, this has been a recurring issue, I try to actively avoid visiting my family doctor because I'm very very limited for time as I seldom get days off in the week, and it's just usually more stressful trying to get through of book an appointment, that I avoid it all together. unfortunately I am likely going to have to look for a new family clinic for my family, despite our love for Dr. Adesina. Yes, this is controversial for some…read more I support universal health care, but don't quite understand why it should come at a universal low standard. My dentist calls me every 4 months for a cleaning or checkup. When was the last time I had a blood test.?... 10 years! I know many have adequate medical care through established family practices via standard health care, but some don't. I did not. I think I knew something was not right and when I couldn't arrange a standard medical exam through my MD (after 1 year of trying and two misconnects) then I signed up for Copeman. After the intake questions and battery of exams and tests, it was found that essentially everything was off the charts. I was actually in pretty bad shape. Fortunately things were found early enough, I received some expert advice, and was able to get some lifestyle choices turned around before it was too late. The actual facility is centrally located, has easy off-street parking with nice (modern and clean!) offices and waiting room. There are nutritionists, physiotherapists, exercise kinesiologists, nurses, lab staff and counsellors available, but most importantly, physicians who actually take their hand off of the door handle when they talk to you. For lab tests, samples are all taken on site. This is the way health care should be. It is not luxurious, unless you compare it to the standard squalid waiting rooms at physicians' offices, usually located in dilapidated medical buildings with antique furnishings and equipment from the 60s. How we have come to accept the current state as acceptable is bewildering to me. While I feel a twinge of liberal guilt about the whole thing, this is a complicated issue with no easy answers. I was not willing to die waiting for politicians and government to figure it out. At $4K/ first year and $2.5K/year following (there are also family plans), it is certainly not for everyone. I am a supporter, and while this kind of service is not the answer to our current delivery problems, it just might be part of the solution.

I was looked at, sent for an x-ray and the Dr called about 1 hour later with the result of my xray. I was very impressed. Yes, for sure the front waiting area should be better, but I needed medical attention, I wasn't interested in the shape/condition of the rug. They do squeeze you in between appointments so it can be frustrating I am sure. but I found both Dr's I have seen there to be courteous and professional.

When you have a booking system and you book someone in the time they are booked for it is their time. I could care less about walk-ins! Book time slots and then allow opening in between for walk-ins if another time appointment is slated for next then they are next. If you have had to book an appointment for any tests from a lab THIS IS HOW IT IS DONE! They have fixed there system and it is phenomenol, learn from it
