Barrie Alderton lack transparency and honesty. We asked for minor changes to the list of tenants (one had decided to live elsewhere). Barrie Alderton clearly had a change of heart about wanting to rent us the property. This would have been fine as we had plenty of time to find other houses, (with a different estate agent) except they didn't tell us straight away they did not want to rent us the property. Instead they took the holding fee and kept delaying the application process claiming they were waiting upon documents from us or our guarantors. We had sent all the documents in to them and had proof of this but they continued to lie, if it wasn't a lie then they had lost our personal information, identification and proof of address documents, which poses a real risk to anyone wanting to rent with them. The staff had no problems to bare face lie to us, at one point claiming all day they had been ringing our contact number : which hadn't rung once although the phone had been on all day with good signal. I recommend you find a competent estate agent for your letting needs and do not risk your personal details being lost by Barrie Alderton, nor your holding fee and deposit kept by Barrie Alderton due to their unscrupulous management. read more
