Our family placed our mother in Grace Senior Living expecting basic safety, dignity, and…read moreresponsible oversight. Instead, what we experienced left us heartbroken, frustrated, and ultimately fearful for her wellbeing. We had multiple meetings with management about her care plan, her daily needs, and the fact that she was a known fall risk (she was a dementia memory care resident) We made her needs very clear, repeatedly. Yet her care plan was rarely followed, and vital information was not passed down to the staff, or completely ignored by those who were supposed to be caring for her. Watching this play out time after time was devastating. Our biggest struggle was with management. Our interactions with Kim Briley, one of the owners, were discouraging and dismissive. Instead of responsibility or solutions, we were met with excuses and comments that made us lose confidence in the facility's leadership. She told us directly that many of her staff were lazy, improperly trained, or didn't have a high school education. She also made the comment that "they can't be watching her 24/7," which felt like a complete disregard for the fact that we were paying for supervision, safety, and adherence to her care plan -- especially given her being documented as late stage dementia and a fall risk. Amid the chaos, a few staff members stood out for their genuine compassion: Jessica, Tiffany, Colette, Christina, and Kiera. They cared about our mother and tried their best despite the lack of support and structure from management. They were the few bright spots in an otherwise deeply disappointing experience. The breaking point -- the moment we will never forget -- was when our mother fell and fractured her hip. In our view, this was preventable had her care plan been followed and communicated properly. After everything we had voiced and tried to address, this outcome was devastating. Obviously there was an ambulance ride to the ER followed by surgery and rehab. We removed our mom from Grace immediately. Not once did Kim reach out to check on Mom. Another disheartening find was learning that the facility is not even licensed by the State of Michigan! This only added to the pain and regret we felt. We trusted Grace Senior Living with someone we love dearly. That trust was broken. Based on our experience, we cannot and will not recommend this facility to any family seeking consistent safe, reliable, or compassionate care.

What really stands out are the activities--there's always something going on, and it's clear they put real thought into keeping residents engaged, active, and social. My mom genuinely looked forward to participating and always had something fun to talk about afterward. Most of all, the staff is incredible. Every single person we interacted with was kind, patient, and truly caring. You can tell they don't just "do a job"--they really care about the residents and treat them like family. My elderly mother was very happy during her time there, and as a family, we felt so supported and at ease knowing she was in such good hands. I'm very grateful for all the amazing people at Grace Senior Living and everything they do every day.

We show up and my grandmother is always sitting in her own waste, a huge diaper as though it's been filling up for hours and hours. The elderly just sit around and hang their heads, complaining of how cold they are. There's no stimulation or games or learning. My grandmothers dementia rapidly deteriorated her as soon as we moved her in. The don't get her dressed most days, they skip showering her. They don't keep her hydrated and so we have to keep hospitalizing her. I've actually walked by and just seen 4 staff members at a time sitting around gossiping doing nothing. My grandmas belongings are ALWAYS disappearing, even after we write her name on everything. They take her treats, her birthday and Christmas gifts, they steal her pants. Anything new always disappears. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to her bathroom and had to wipe up scum and dirt they didn't bother to clean and her toothbrush is always gone. The food is bland and it's SO dry my grandma can't even swallow it and she's losing so much weight! It's saddens me that she is at Angelica's Place. I'm hoping the family moves her away. This place is really terrible. I would not recommend. And I wouldn't trust google reviews because most of those are written by the owners themselves. You put your loved one in a home because life responsibilities prevent you from giving the excellent care you want your older, loved relative to receive. You don't want to just stick them someplace to starve, be hospitalized and ignored until they die in a chair. And honestly, from the looks of her diaper, I wonder how long it would take their lazy staff to notice? :(

When…read moremy mother was widowed, she fell into a deep depression and was unable to maintain her Troy home, that she shared with my father for 40 years. She suggested ASRH herself, after friends who attended the Open House of this new facility recommended it to her. From the moment I walked in the facility to meet with the Leasing Mgr, I was totally impressed, and remained so until I had to move my mother to an assisted living facility. Not a day went by that my mother didn't tell me how much she loved ASRH, feeling safe and secure everyday. The environment met the needs of the elderly in multiple ways and was always impeccably clean. The staff we met over the 15 years will always be remembered by name for their friendly, kind and personal service. The chauffeuring service was phenomenal. The activities were varied, season and holiday appropriate, for men and women with a multitude of interests. I could never list all the activities my mother and her family enjoyed. Our family used the reserved party room on numerous occasions. Dining was a daily highlight. Again, the service was top notch, but it was the quality, healthy and variety of the food that made meals a wonderful social event. Professionalism was exhibited during the Covid pandemic and met scientific and government directions. The residents' needs were most cleverly met while quarantining. It is with a heavy heart that my mother has to say good-bye to the home she loved for her golden years. Her, and her family will always hold dearly our memories of ASRH.

They were at 95% capacity at the time so I believed, and still do, this was genuine concern. Kerry Henderson was very patient with my brother and me, as we were both unfamiliar with the process and struggling with this next step. Thomas Dixie, Director of the Memory Care Unit, made sure mom was settled in and made her feel comfortable and cared for. He arranged for a physician, dentist, physical therapy, and even a psychiatric consult to help with her transition. Always reachable and always responsive to my questions and concerns. Not once did I ever feel dismissed. The care givers were so attentive and patient. Dementia can make the elderly uncooperative, but they always seemed to gently get mom to corporate. The maintenance staff were very supportive. Offering to help in any way to make her apartment feel at home. They even stopped in to check on her and visit. If you have a parent in need of assisted living or memory care please consider Anthology. We were not disappointed and slept better knowing mom was being cared for here. Closing out the apartment was simple and without any drama.

In addition, our family lost total of $7,500.00! $5,000.00 because they did not keep track of most basic needs/essentials of older people (dimentia). My parents "lost" dentures and hearing aids with their lack of "care". There was a lot of neglect and caregivers stealing personal items and you PAY TOP DOLLAR for this?! In addition, on move out there was normal wear on the room and they charged to have the ENTIRE ROOM redone at a cost of $2,500.00. The building may be nice, but don't let this deception fool you!
