It is not in the town centre and is tucked away out of sight, it is not the sort of place that you would stumble upon by accident, but if you know that it is there, it is worth spending the time searching it out, as they have lots and lots of shoes that are not too expensive, so if you are looking for something in a particulara colour to match your outfit or if you want something like say a ladies sandal in a large size 9, then it is worth seeking this place out. They are building lots of new houses around it now, so I hope that this does not mean that that United Footwear closes down, to make room for re-development.

The shop has the best layout i have ever seen. The shoes are laid out in rows of colours, which makes it really easy to find if they have any you are after. The security guards are really nice and friendly and open the doors and greet you when you come in. They also sell a small amount of jewellery and clothing. The prices are really good. The only down side is that it is not in the town centre and is quite hidden, which is a shame for the business, because I think they could make a lot more money if the shop was located else where.

I damaged my brown leather shoes on the day I bought them. I was distraught. I rang the shop and was advised to return them to see what they could do. I received them back today. WOW! The store is quite large, actually larger than most of the regular Clarks stores with mens, children, and womens sections. There is also a small selection of leather handbags. There is a clearance section and the regular sale section... meaning lots of shoes! For as many shoes as they have, there are not that many places to sit to try on shoes and also not very many mirrors where you can see how un-stylish these shoes are. Some of the shoes are a really great deal, but some of them are still quite high priced. Didn't come in contact with any of the staff at any point so I don't know how service was. They sell their shoes cheaper than the main Clarks retailers and often have special offers like buy two get one free. They have trained fitters. I always get my kids feet measured and like Clarks shoes because they are good quality and made of leather and likely to last even when they get scuffed in the school playground. The shop, like the others in the Designer Outlet village is open until 8 most nights and so it is a good place to go if you want to buy shoes after work has finished.

The items are usually priced up at bargain prices but you have to be careful because there is a reason for this. Most of the items appear to be seconds or slightly damaged in some way. Alot of the items on the shelf are just packed in and not really looked after, hence the damage. Many items are also just end of line and so there is nothing wrong with them at all.
