It seems that every time I find myself in Jackson, Mississippi, I find myself heading over to Barnett Reservoir. I just enjoy the overall vibe of the reservoir. There are parks and restaurants around the reservoir. I really enjoyed the vibe of here and again, whenever I come to Jackson, Mississippi, I feel drawn here. My old college apartment is right down the street. This reservoir was the main reason I moved to the area twenty-something years ago to attend Jackson State University, and I'm still in love with it today. I visit every time I come here. It gets more beautiful and peaceful with each visit. It's funny because I see so many young people walking around, and I know they are college students, just like I was trying to live in this area because of the water. But I made it work, and so are they, making it work. Yep, that little one-bedroom apartment was worth every penny to see the Barnett Reservoir every day. read more

I love it here. A quiet, clean and beautiful location to connect with the Pearl River. I love that you're allowed to walk up to and touch the river without restriction. Oh there's also a fishing pier, boat docks, and a huge space for camping out in RVs. I have to try the RV thing one day. read more
