The ladies in the eye glass section were helpful and friendly. *** Holy cow the questionnaire for repeat customers is ridiculously long. Getting an eye exam should have such an intensive and invasive questionnaire. -1 star for that. I have them 5 stars but now 4 because of this. The eye exam girl was friendly and did a good job too. The doctor was friendly and have good advice about why I should not get lasic eye surgery. All in all not a bad place but be prepared to fully disclose your entire medical history just to get a new eyeglass prescription and exam! read more

Horrible! Will never go back to the Show Low facility. Absolutely no confidence in their professional capabilities to treat my eye issues what-so-ever. Long wait times, disorganized...was rushed through like cattle. While waiting in the lobby, overheard patients complaining about the wait times and service as well as they were leaving this facility. I'll continue my eye treatment in Phoenix regardless of drive time and logistics. read more

The medical folk seem fine, the gauntlet that has to be run every time you have a appointment wasn't worth it to me. you need to fill out the same 20 min survey to be sold to marketers no matter how many time you have answered the same question on previous visits. In the name of fraud prevention you are forced to put your ID & Insurance card through their scanner each & every time you walk through the door. Guilty until proven innocence, but to be on the save side they still consider you guilty! I'd prefer to go somewhere that treats me like a human. read more

I made an appointment for an eye exam and glasses in early June. My appountment was set for 7 weeks later. I arrived 30 minutes early and waited until I was called just to be told that my insurance didn't cover glasses. My insurance does provide some coverage, but my issue is that in the 7 weeks I waited I received no less than 11 emails from the office and at no point did anyone bother to check to make sure I had coverage or to let me know that I would be wasting my time coming down there. There seemed to be a huge office staff - is customer care not part of your job? Very unprofessional and I would not recommend this eye care center read more

I have a problem with hemorrhages in the back of my eye. Dr. Jack Sipperley cleared it up for me. He is very knowledgeable and gives excellent care. Terrible experience - I'd rather drive to Phoenix for a more professional experience than try booking here again. I've been having terrible headaches that have been causing me to miss work so of course as a glasses wearer, I knew to check if my prescription is out of date. I booked the first available appointment (the next day) that would work with my hectic work schedule and the morning of my confirmed appointment I received a voicemail asking if I would consider coming in sooner and then before I could return the call I got another voicemail asking again if I could consider coming in sooner. I called the office back twice and was sent to voicemail both times and shared that I was at work and couldn't come in any sooner but I needed my confirmed appointment time. I then received a call back from a woman in the office saying that I needed to come in earlier and when I said I wasn't able she said "Well we have a problem because the doctor won't be here." Instead of continuing this run-around, I asked for my appointment to be canceled instead of rescheduled and I shared with the woman on the phone that this was a very disappointing and frustrating experience and her response was "Okay well have a great day!" and she hung up without even an apology for the inconvenience. I really wasn't expecting that after reading so many great reviews but I won't be bringing them my business. read more

This is my second review. The first covered my issues with medical billing which they failed at miserably and I just paid over $1,000 even though I am fully covered by my insurance for cataract surgery. This review is for the lousy care. My opthamologists was Daryl Pfister, MD who has no bedside manner and was quite rude during my pre surgery meeting and treatment. I left my pre surgery meeting asking what is wrong with this guy. Very short and not one for friendly chit chat. He comes off as thinking he is better than you. During the surgery I woke and was coherent and the only thing he said to me was don't you dare move. During recovery the day of my surgery I was so uncomfortable that I called the on call Dr because they taped my eyelid shut. He told me to take off the tape and mentioned he can't understand why they do that. I had a follow up at the the Lakeside office with D Lewis who was Ok. He was the friendliest of any person I was in contact with at BDP. At one appointment prior to my surgery, I was called in from the waiting room by one elder looking BDP employee. He never greeted me and told me to follow him down a hall to an office where he asked me to sit and asked me 15 Minutes of questions in which I gave him the same answer over and over and over again. It was ridiculous. That was a sign I should have walked. read more

Dr. Blair and his staff were amazing. I saw some reviews said that the health screening was quite long which turns out is true, but to me, that is a good thing. The more they know, the better they can customize my plan. My tech that took me back was still learning, but did an amazing job! When her trainer came in, I was blown away with her knowledge and bedside manner. Dr. Blair then enters and put my husband and I at ease right away. The girls that helped my husband with his glasses were also on their game. From making the appt over the phone to checking in-getting treated and ordering what we needed, this place is like entering an office filled with family and friends. All smiles from the crew. The only reason I took one star away was because of the weird "contact lens fitting" fee. I have worn contacts for years, there was no fitting-just a temporary script-yet I had to pay $25 for this "fitting." I have been a patient at this clinic since early 2019. It was a great place and they always made you feel very welcome. If you had questions someone always answered the phone. My doctor, El Gasim, was always there for me with my macular degeneration. I had to be seen every five months. Something changed in 2022. Most of the employees that I had admired over the years, were gone. They had new people in and now no one answers the phone, no one returns calls if you do leave a message, so I finally, after leaving 3 messages and not receiving a call back in 3 months time, I made an appointment to talk to Dr.El Gasim about getting a referral (of which I very clearly explained to the receptionist when I made the appointment). Once I got in the room they would not let me see him unless I agreed to have my eyes dilated. I was not there for anything other than to talk to him about a referral. The saddest thing of all after four years of being a patient there every five months Dr. El Gasim would not even come in and talk with me. He simply told them to tell me that he does not do referrals. How very sad that this great eye center has become a big corporation and does not care about their patients or their employees. All they care about is getting money to their stockholders. Very sad indeed. read more

This is a great place to go to for your eye care. They do it all and can address any problem you have with eyes. I enjoy going to my appointments. They have a friendly staff and always helpful. This last visit I really enjoyed Peter, who did my initial screening and then Dr. Blair who was there for the rest of the exam and consultation. They never answer their phones! And then when you go inside to make an appointment, they make you wait. They also do not have a system to leave a message. Get a better office manager or a staff that can handle the amount of patients coming in or calling. read more

Had cataract surgery, no problems with my eyes before then. It's been a yr now and everyday my eyes ache really bad everyday. I went to many follow up visits to fix the problem but nothing worked, I was seeing double and triple images. Finally Palmer said I needed another surgery, he said I had a film over one eye that they did surgery on already. I wasn't going to let them touch my eyes again. Finally he said he could put a prism in one of my lenses and that got rid of the triple vision but not the everyday eye pain which I live with!! I am pissed to say the least and they didn't even seem concerned!!!! read more

This rating is based on my whole experience,it was very pleasant up until my final fitting day back in March of this year 2021. I was picking up my prescription glasses.when it came time for my final fitting I noticed my frames didn't feel right on my face they seemed to be very uncomfortable and a bit of a crooked fitting So i informed the technician about my concern about the way they felt.but she didn't seem very concerned about correcting my fitting issues and said they looked good on me. but again refused to give me an answer as to my resolution to my issue.i intend to take my glasses back for an adjustment.in October because I payed a lot of money for the glasses and shouldn't have to go through this the issue should of be addressed the first time.and I've never in my many years as a patient have had to go through this until this year.very disappointed in the way I've been treated by the fitting tech. read more
