So far I love Barnes & Noble as this one and everyone we've been to cause in a pinch they always have oujia boards.

    My fave section.

It feels weird to review a "chain" bookstore in New Orleans, when there are so many awesome "homegrown" bookstores in the city, but this is the one I go to, so there it is. I find myself in B&N at least once or twice a month. They are always having fantastic sales and the staff has always been incredibly friendly and eager to help me find anything I may be looking for. I like that they have a lot of art books (and some really obscure ones) and they have a huge section dedicated to books by local authors and about the city. I would love for a local bookstore to pop up in my neck of the woods, but until that happens, I am happy to call this place a favorite.

I hate to say that this is such a sub-par Starbucks. The service has never been awesome. It really bothers me when baristas do the 2/3 full coffee. This place seems to make it a habit. It is, however, very convenient that they are located in Barnes and noble. If you're here any time between 3-5 on a weekday it's filled with teenagers who just kind of park it at all the tables after school and take advantage of the free water. Rather annoying if you'd like to sit down for a couple of minutes after spending $10+ on coffee.

A pretty standard B&N store. This location was particularly well-stocked and there weren't many empty shelves (which was nice, compared to some other stores I have been too).

I enjoy my shopping experience at Barnes and Noble. I usually go their for children's books. I love the way they have an area set up for children. I like the area by the stage where there is a seating area for kids and parents to sit. It's an extra plus because you can sit, read and have a cup of coffee in the Starbucks that's attach... Thumbs up..

It is a big book store. Lots of parking spaces, and conveniently located off the freeway.

I'm slowly making my way through their coffee menu, by asking each barista what their favorite…read moredrink is and then ordering that the next time I go. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, both about books and the coffee. Every single coffee drink I've tried is absolutely outstanding. My favorite so far is If Beale Street Could Talk, a cayenne-infused mocha. It is spicy, smoky and delicious. The bookstore is lovely, too. They have plenty of events, and there are always at least a few crowds hanging around. Their selection is lovely and I always find a few new books to read. Beautiful outdoor patio, plus they have a small recording studio for podcasts (I think) and a bunch of tables, games, puzzles, etc. I love this spot! I think about their drinks all the time

James Baldwin was known as "God's Black revolutionary mouth" and is also the forever #1 guest on my…read moredead or alive party list. This bookstore is a true community spot. When we visited, it was crowded, but there was an event going on outside. Additionally, groups were there to meet and have coffee and chat. They have a coffee bar that appears to be well appointed. The book selection is wonderful. So many James Baldwin titles, including some you don't see regularly. They do online orders, so if you are looking for Baldwin books or books on Black history/social justice, consider buying from this Black owned business instead of Amazon. They also have a beautiful air bnb for rent. As mentioned in other reviews, this is in the Marigny/Bywater neighborhood and can be made part of a full day of activities, including JamNola and Allways Lounge and great restaurants.
