I like this Barnes & Noble. I dropped by the store twice on my recent trip to the Twin Cities. This bookstore-cafe combo was a five-minute drive from the hotel where I was staying. I love a good bookstore. It's located at Eagan Promenade, which is a plaza with a number of box stores and eateries. There was plenty of parking. I parked and walked in. I was happy. To my right was the cafe. It sells Starbucks coffee. It also has baked goods and fancy meals. I looked at the cool collections of Brown and friends, Pusheen, Snoopy, Harry Potter, and other merchandise. I really liked these building sets of famous skylines that you can build, such as The Bund in Shanghai. While I was browsing, a woman from the cafe came over to me with samples of a strawberries and cream drink. I had never seen that before and had to snap a photo of the tray with pretty drinks. I then took a sample and thanked her. It was yummy. I liked the freeze-dried strawberry on top. It took a while to browse the books. I was in fiction for the longest time. I then moved over to the cookbooks and then the discount book section. I can spend hours in a bookstore and be perfectly content. I ended up getting a Pusheen water bottle. It was adorable that I had to get it. I had never seen one before. I went to pay for it at the cashier. She was nice and asked if I needed a bag. I said yes, as I didn't want the water bottle to get any scratches. I also got a coupon to buy a cookie at the cafe and get another one for free. This deal sounded good to me. It was the main reason why I returned the following day. The cafe had discounted chocolate. I ended up getting a matcha green tea latte white chocolate bar for under $2. I had never seen this flavour in my life. I went to the counter and presented my cookie coupon. I got lemon blueberry and Reese's peanut butter cup cookies. There was only one woman working the cafe, but she was sweet and nice. I got my cookies in two separate bags. I also paid for my chocolate bar there with cash. I ate one cookie back at the hotel and one on the plane heading back home. The lemon blueberry cookie was bright and cheerful. It was yummy. I was happy with the slight tartness of the lemon with the pops of blueberry flavour in each bite. It is a seasonal flavour. I had the Reese's peanut butter cup cookie on the flight. It tastes so good with a Diet Coke. It was crispy and chewy where it should be. I indulged and was in heaven. I would definitely get this cookie again. I have since used my Pusheen water bottle. It keeps hot water hot for well over eight hours. I haven't tried cold beverages yet. I still haven't had the chocolate bar, either. I will soon. (111)

Smaller selection than the rest of the stores and not enough staff so if it's busy be prepared to wait in line half an hour

Any new book that I hear about and want to buy, they invariably have in stock, alongside a wonderful selection of titles I may not have realized existed. They're the kind of place that gets me excited about the world, even if they also remind me there will never be enough time to read everything I want to. I've been to a ton of independent bookstores in the Twin Cities, and Moon Palace is the best. Heck, I've been to a ton of bookstores in a lot of cities, and if Moon Palace isn't the best anywhere, I can't think of one better right now.

I gathered that the goal is for it to feel like a scavenger hunt, and that you may find some unexpected treasures along the way, but my group found it kind of frustrating as it made it difficult to navigate. I'm a fan of the way bookstores and libraries are already laid out and didn't feel like that needed to be changed. The staff was lovely and kind though! I would return to explore their puzzles more, and did stumble upon a book by a favorite author, so all in all left happy. If you're a person who's open to the adventure of just exploring and being curious about what you may find, this could be a great place to visit!

I am very happy this Linden Hills store has been handed down to the next generation. Very few book stores have the intimacy and charm of Wild Rumpus. Have a young child or relatives? Most known for their animals in-store, this is a visit to a bookstore that includes meeting the cat, birds, chinchillas, and other animals that call Wild Rumpus home. It's so much fun to see and read about them. There's even fish in the mirror of the bathroom! If that didn't sell you, the ambiance beyond animals here is amazing. There's murals all over - including on the ceiling. There's a house-type structure in the back. There's chairs to cozy up and read in. It's like walking into a children's book. And what about the books?! So many books! Mostly children and YA books, but they have a substantial wall section for adults too. Everything from manga to local authors here. Prices are reasonable and service is always so welcoming and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough - whether you're shopping for a kid, bringing one along, or want to feel like a kid again yourself.

My husband saw a book about making soymilk and a graphic introduction to Derrida directly opposite. How many bookstores can give you that kind of experience? It's the kind of store where you will find your college reading list (words of one fellow customer). Or that old cookbook that your Mom used to have. That random book your college friend told you about but you never bothered to pick up. A classic graphic novel that your art class peers recommended. You won't find everything you ever wanted to read, but there's a good chance you will find something that you didn't know you wanted to read. The store is a real community effort. One of the owner's friends happened to be there, and said that the owner had another store-full of books in his house. He had been collecting books over 15-20 years, carefully curating them for just this time. The shelves were made with brackets from a local department store that was closing. The owner's brother made the beautiful book cases on the floor. We found this place by chance looking for something to do Christmas day. In the spirit of the bookstore name, they had Jewish trivia, bagels, and mimosas. Some other people trickled in for the trivia, others did kind of float in and browse the books. We gathered around a small table toward the front and had a blast. The store was closing up soon after our trivia game ended, so I'll be back at some other time when it's warmer. A great addition to the neighborhood!
