I picked up peaches by the pound, and I also saw lots of potatoes, peas in pods, onions, raspberries, and sunflowers. Prices were very reasonable and comparable to what's offered in West Michigan. When I was there, I got a whiff of something baking in the oven and perused the bakery and Mooville ice cream. The smell was more enticing than what I saw displayed. Still, I was glad to see the homemade breads, pies, and cookies. Do I imagine I'll be swinging by again anytime soon? No. Am I glad it's there in case I find myself in another emergency peach situation? Yes, yes I do.

And of course, fresh fruit and vegetables they also have flowers and plants, tons of moms, pretzels, and then all kinds of snack foods many of them locally produced. Amish popcorn, and then frozen foods meats anything you could need especially if you were just on the road headed to a week near the beach or hiking. Great store with pretty good prices. Nothing special just an old farm market, but tons of food tons of things available that you might want or need.

The price has increased to $2.00 per pound for U-Pick, or $20.00 for a five pound box (it used to be $1.50 for U-Pick and $12.00 for a five pound box). I went the first week of August, and found the berries I picked were sweet, but both small and sparse. I probably won't go here again; blueberries are cheaper at my local grocery store.

They have cauliflower, squash, pumpkins, ghost peppers, tomatillos, etc. Initially I wasn't sure which pumpkin to pick (since not all pumpkins are equal when it comes to baking) and luckily someone came in to restock and he was able to answer my questions. This spot underwent a glow up and a rebrand since the last time we were here and I love it!…read morePreviously you would do your shopping in the big building on the property (where I assume they do a lot of the processing and kept all their equipment, it felt kind of like a "facility" or warehouse of sorts) and it was pretty barebones. And it was fine! Better than fine because the blueberries were so good! I had no complaints. But now they've leveled up. Now it's not just good blueberries but good ambiance as well! They've converted another smaller building next to it as a storefront and it's chock full of blueberry based goodies like jams, jellies, baked goods, dips, mustards, beverages, etc. Way more to choose from! They also sell ice cream and added a play structure to help entertain the kiddos that get a little bored of picking (smart). The day of our visit it was around 100 degrees and humid so I was not up for picking myself. Instead I arrived ready to buy a box of pre-picked fruit in bulk like I had in the past. I walked into the cute new storefront, scanned the shelves, and panicked. There were no boxed berries to be seen! Was this no longer a thing?? U-pick only?? Why God why!? No need to panic, the really lovely woman at the counter explained to me. They just ran out because nobody wanted to pick in the heat (fair) and they had another load of blewbs (just processed and boxed) enroute and arriving at any moment, she just wasn't sure when exactly. Our time in town was limited so we decided we'd come back instead of waiting. She assured me there would be plenty available. And she was right! A couple of hours later we came back to find the coolers absolutely stocked full of 5lb boxes. I was fielding requests from the family back home to bring them some so in the end I bought 20 pounds worth. I also added a blueberry lemon coffee cake for good measure. Great visit! Wonderful changes! Lovely personnelle! And most importantly, the blueberries are still amazing. Next time I just hope it's cooler so I can get an ice cream cone that wasn't going to liquify the moment I stepped outside.

Barden's Farm Market was an unplanned pit stop during a road trip from Ludington to Indiana. Well,…read moreI'm glad we stopped, because it's an amazing little place for local food. I don't know what this farm market is like during the rest of the year, but when we visited in late summer, there was a lot of fresh produce for sale, including lots of local blueberries and tomatoes. They had so much produce that they even gave us a carton of yellow cherry tomatoes for free! Yeah! I love free things! The tomatoes were super sweet and delicious. We mostly stopped to use the restroom (yes, they have a public restroom) and to grab something for lunch. They have lots of different varieties of sandwiches, all with local ingredients. I got the turkey and white cheddar sandwich, and it was excellent. They sell half sandwiches and whole, and I got a whole sandwich because I was hella hungry. They also have a refrigerated case of salads, like pasta salad, potato salad, bean salad and the like. I got a tub of the pasta salad, which was perfectly dressed (not too oily), and had shaved carrots, grated broccoli and cherry tomatoes. It was excellent, too. Barden's also sells whole pies, donuts, cookies and other baked goods, which I was tempted to buy, but I was trying to be good. But now that I'm sitting here writing this review, I'm thinking of the blueberry pie I saw sitting on the stand, and I wish I would have bought it! Dang it! If only Barden's wasn't so far from me.
