But once inside and up the stairs, it's worth the trouble. The gallery puts on regular exhibitions of contemporary art by studio-holders and artists from further afield, plus there are occasional performances and parties, and an annual season of video art showings.

They then proceeded to tell me how I MUST wear something to match the bridesmaids( being the brides mother).When I saw an outfit I liked, one assistant said, "I think I'd better tell you this one's£600 before you decide!" Then I saw a trouser suit I liked in a brochure, to which I was told, "We'll not be sending for that one for you to try on, because if you don't like it, we'll not get rid of itAt this point I thought they'd not be sending for any for me because I wouldn't shop there because of the attitude I experienced. By the way I got a lovely outfit at Alison Elizabeth in Tickhill, where the assistants were absolutely lovely and couldn't be more helpful!

Their range of designer outfits was very impressive and I was never felt pressurised into buying. Once I had choosen an outfit another appointment was made with the dressmaker to do some minor alterations, again the staff were very helpful, and they made an excellent job.
