Just left here and would like to inform the general public of the POS man who according to Yelp is part of management. We dropped off our dog, Lady, at 9am this morning. After a few hours, we called to check in to see the status of the grooming appointment. He mentioned that she had to "air dry" because she didn't like the handheld dog hair dryer. He mentioned it would take another hour. An hour passed so we decided to show up and we are thankful we showed up at the exact moment in time to witness what no dog owner should ever witness. My gf walked in to hear a lot of thumping and F-bombs coming from the man. She quickly rushed to call me to help. She imagined he was abusing a dog behind closed doors. She could hear loud whining and the sound of nails clicking on a metal table. As I walked in, the thumping had resided and I heard the door knob turn to watch him with a "oh sh**" face realizing we had just witnessed everything. His explanation was lackluster. "Has she been in an accident, she kept turning and pushing me." He said that he had been hurt by the dog and she had kicked him into the wall. My gf mentioned that the way he was talking to her was not acceptable. Lady came running out and he mentioned he would give our $ back after witnessing the event. What questions go through your head? First off, what other dogs has he done this to? The dogs are truly at the mercy of the groomers and the treatment she received was troubling. We also noticed she didn't get any water to drink the entire 4 hours she was there. How do we know this? We live nearby and we gave her water before. She arrived at home and went straight for the water bowl which she never does. Read the other negative reviews before thinking of taking your animal here. We found our Lady on the streets of San Antonio. She had signs of abuse which has altered her movements around the hips. The lack in care and consideration for the pet's past is alarming when you read the positive reviews. read more

I scheduled a drop off time at 9:30am for a dog bath and called at 12pm because I hadn't received an update or phone call to pick up my dog. When I called, I was told she didn't like hand dryer and it would be another hour until she was ready. My boyfriend and I made the decision to go pick her up anyway due to the time and concern that she would be stressed being at the groomer so long. When I went in, all I could hear was a dog crying and a male voice cursing angrily and banging noises in the back. It went on for a minute and I started to worry that he was hurting someone's dog. I went back to the car to tell my boyfriend and and when we went back inside lo and behold the groomer comes out and tells me my dog is being difficult and wouldn't let him adjust her to clip her nails. We told him to give her back to us immediately and we got the hell out of there. Our dog is a rescue and has been abused previously by another owner. I just don't have words right now for what I experienced and am still trying to calm myself down. I can't find any informational of how to get in touch with the owner but need to report this somehow. I found barking beauties over a year ago and it is the only place I would take my dog. The owners and staff were a little odd, but they loved my dog and always did a good job with reasonable pricing. A few months back I dropped my pup off for a groom. I noticed the inside seemed to have been rearranged (and honestly, a bit cleaner). They had my dog for several hours - indicating they don't start her groom immediately. However I picked her up and was satisfied. Last week, I went back. When I called for my appointment, they told me they didn't have me in the new system. What I found a little alarming is that they never asked me for shot records. The original ones on file were expired and I have renewed them - but the groomer didn't have them. It makes me think they don't require vaccinations for the dogs. The groom again took several hours, but she looked cute. Her ears were uneven but they did correct them. When we got home - a few days later, I noticed my dog licking quite a bit. When I looked I could see rash - but also a questionable and deeper spot. I wanted to be 100% it was not a bite since it was rounded. I made a vet appointment and he confirmed that this was from the groomer. Imagine trying to cut a knot out and tugging at the fur a bit to cut the hair - but clipping the skin. I find it VERY hard to believe that with this cut she didn't bleed. I am so upset at the groomer for not even mentioning this to me... Without Kelley running this place - I will not be going back. This was a good hole-in-the-wall joint that I found through Yelp. The staff is very friendly and they booked my 2 pups twi days later (basically unheard of- usually the wait is a week everywhere I go!) I am very particular about my dogs baths and overall grooming... I feel like I would do just as good of a job even with a "mom cut" trim. When I went in at first the place is very disorganized and messy looking.. like I said the people are friendly but ... yuck. My dogs were there from 9:30-5:30.. granted I picked them up a little late but even then the lady called at 4 to tel me they were done. The appointment time apparently does not mean that is when your dog will be groomed- it means your dog can sit and wait in a kennel until they get around to them. I don't like this... I could have dropped my dog off 15 min before the scheduled bath instead of making them wait. When I picked my dogs up they were crazy!!! Probably from being cooped up. Whatever. The thing that kind of irritated me what that there was powder on my dog.. dry shampoo? Or to primo them up before me seeing them since they sat around on the crate so long? Hmmm They gave me a discount for being a first time customer but still I paid $80 for both dogs. Maybe I will just do baths at home. I was expecting a deep clean on both and wanted a good experience for them. I probably will not be back but the other reviews seem like others had a different experience. I couldn't think of a worse place to take your beloved dog. I'll start with the actual grooming. They used zero care and broke skin all along my dogs back legs. I've gotten him this same haircut many times and NEVER has this occurred. His skin is raw and bleeding in some areas. I don't know how any ethical person could do this to a dog and customer and be proud. That's not to mention they rudely declined my specific requests for the grooming. But whatever, that's not a huge deal, but the rudeness of the staff was shocking. The place itself was disgusting as well. Obviously not cleaned in a long long time. The workers clearly take no pride in themselves or their business. And this is really important when being neglectful in your duties results in injury people's pets. I've been here a handful of times with concerns, but after today I don't think I can take my dog here again. I dropped off my dog at 1 PM and they close at 5 PM. When i had not heard anything about my pet I called at 5:45 to check in and they hadn't started on her! I live less than ten minutes away, so I would have much rather kept her home for five hours instead of cooped up in that stinky place! Seriously, the place is so unsanitary. Both the owner and other lady were super nice and attentive. I was looking for a groomer last minute, and gave them a call. They kindly accepted my request and had me in 10 minutes later. Upon arrival, I was greeted by one of the staff members, and was immediately uncomfortable as she threw a tantrum about not knowing there was a last minute appointment made. I told her I would leave, as I did not have cash either, which is all they are accepting at the time. The staff member told me she would take my dog back, referring to him as her/mommy/mama the entire time. I informed her I would need to leave and get cash, but would be back after-the-fact. Upon my arrival back, another staff member, presumably the owner came out and insinuated I should leave. When I politely stated I was just going to wait she proceeded to say things like "well I have several dogs ahead of yours", "Do you need him back quickly or something...?" etc. I felt very uncomfortable as I was simply just waiting for my dog as I had initially stated. She then said "if you're going to just stand in here and wait you can at least sit in the chair". The only chair to sit and wait in was a black office chair with white stains/mold on it. When my dog's services had concluded, he came out in a bandana, which was a nice touch considering the poor customer service prior. The staff suggested I do some "homework" and play loud noises next to my dog's ears because he "couldn't stand the sound of the blow dryer", and said his paws are also wet because of the same reason. This leads me to believe that the sound was not the problem, rather the heat was the problem. My dog has been to several groomers in the past, and there has never been one single issue with related "homework". I tipped 18%, but if it had not been for Covid-19 and my desire to support small businesses at this time, I would have not left a tip due to the verbal interactions shared with staff. read more

These ladies always do an awesome job! Brought Brody here when I moved to SA and this was only the 2nd groomer to ever cut him. He's a 5 yr old goldenddoodle with all of his males parts so sometimes he can be protective especially around other dogs. They loved him and thought he was such a sweet pup. The cut looked great and have been back since and when I ask them to take him a little shorter for the summer months. They do exactly as I ask. Really good price too. First off, when you drop the ball and piss off a client for losing their customer card 4x times, giving our leash and collar to another client, holding our dog for a scheduled grooming appointment for 6 1/2 hours after the fact and which I can only imagine was in a small cage with no bathroom breaks judging by how she was as soon as we left. UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES, after speaking with someone asking for a manager supervisor or owner they just laughed and responded with "pick one" and continued addressing the claim and then tried dismissing my spouse and i that she gave us a 10$ discount for the inconvenience even though the collar and leash she lost will cost more then 10$ to replace. When confronted about her errors, was overly dismissive as if this is a constant occurrence for her. We will not be a returning customer anymore and are extremely displeased by the terrible service and mistreatment of owners properties and fur babies. read more

I found a Cocker Spaniel on my property. She was a mess. She had matted hair on her ears, legs, feet and stomach. She had sticker burs tangled in the mats. She was caked in dirt and had flea dirt everywhere. Kelley offered her services free of charge on a FB post where I am trying to find her owner. This dog is lost, frightened, unsure and needed a gentle hand in getting this job done. Kelley went above and beyond in making this girl feel safe and I barely recognized her when I picked her up. I can say that you can feel confident that your dog will be loved and receive excellent care in the hands of these ladies. read more
