Today, 10/18/2021, same dog Puma, bit at my dog again. This time swiped at him with a leash and not so politely told the owner to control his dog. One woman proceeds to tell me that he's only a puppy and my dog is being submissive and should be there. My dog and I ha e been here over 20 times and this dog was the only one to show aggression towards mine. Second woman, a Karen, says stay away from my dog. Lady, your dog is not aggressive and interacting with mine, look. Apparently my anger scared this Karen. To end this story, I waited for the sheriff's to arrive, told them what was going on. Deemed no crime was committed by me defending my dog from a threatening act. So to woman number one and the Karen who just couldn't stay out of it, I will not hesitate to protect my dog from any threat, human or animal. Like I said, it's a good size dog park. Be on the look out for Puma however. Black dog looks like herding breed mixed.

What a lovely surprise! We are stepping into 2026 with a mindful intention of walking everyday. It…read morestarted with just 20 mins/day and has turned into an adventurous hobby. When we run errands, or go to lunch, we now look for a nearby neighborhood or park to explore. Today brought us to Valencia. When I searched for "largest park", Heritage appeared. After running errands and before dinner, we went walking. After parking in the large, free lot, we went towards the restrooms to prep for our hour long constitutional. We set a timer for 30 minutes and off we set towards the San Fransiquito Creek Trail along the northwest edge of the park. We had no idea how well paved, well marked and how, well...LONG this trail is! We walked for 30 minutes north, past homes and communities, then turned back before we could even see anywhere NEAR the end of the trail at Copper Hill Dr. Along the way we passed many a happy walker, jogger, puppy dog, and cyclists enjoying the final golden minutes of the day and this lovely area preserved for our recreation. By the time we returned to the actual park, soccer practice and flag football began occupying the fields. Many more youths had taken to the playground and a few adults had settled into the tables at the picnic area. As we left, we agreed it was a great walk and a beautiful location we look forward to traversing again, next time following the trail in the opposite direction. Cheers! "CC"

The parking lot is small, and you really can't see what's behind the headquarters building. All I could see were tennis courts. ‍ I'm SO glad I eventually got out of the car and explored because this place is MASSIVE! There are quite a few different directions you can go. The main area, where the playground is located, has a beautiful circular walking path surrounded by lush green grass and trees. Since I was there in the early evening, there were quite a few shady spots along the way. But if you continue walking toward the back...WOW! It opens up into what feels like a vast desert landscape, with several different paths to explore. One of them even has a pretty steep hill! This area also serves as the backdrop to some absolutely beautiful homes. And the best part? It was SO quiet, peaceful and serene. Just the rain, the trees and the sound of nature. I came looking for a place to walk and accidentally found a little hidden gem. Definitely adding Summit Park to my list of places to return to!

Overall, it's a great community space with one note...there are no restrooms located in the park and the closest facilities will be located across the street at the Whole Foods, so use your judgement wisely.

It is pretty well kept and most of the dog owners clean up after their pets. I have been at various times where it has been crowded and when no one else was at the park. Both are great and provides some much needed exercise for my minigoldendoodle. There is a water station with several bowls that can be moved around the park. There are plenty of benches located all around so the pet parents can sit and enjoy watching their little ones play and run around. It's a great place to catch the sunset. Me and lil snickers will definitely be back!

My dog is on the small side, so I take him to the small dog park, just next to the large dog park. There are always some larger dogs on the small dog side, but those pups tend to be afraid of the large dogs, so they socialize with the small pups. The park is clean, well-maintained, and they have poop shovels/bags ready when you need them. In addition, there is a playground for the children, a basketball area for the teens, restrooms, and plenty of parking. You will love it and so will your pup. Enjoy!

The staircase was the first feature I noticed the first time I passed by at night. I could see something in the distance that resembled the Mulholland aqueduct cascading down the Newhall Pass near my home. So on this beautiful Wednesday evening, we headed to Central Park to "investigate" the lights at the back of the park. How cool! We arrived just as the late afternoon sun was descending o're the horizon and the clouds were moving from white to pink, to grey, to pink, to peach, to orange. Gorgeous! Perfect timing to see the beginning of the "River of Lights" that caught my eye. A beautiful array of 214 programmable lights that seem to "flow" in ever changing colors from the flag pole at the top of the exercise staircase down, down, down the 172 steps and into a main plaza, lined with benches and trees, to encircle a lovely 2025 art installation entitled "When Cloud Met A Cloud" by Sujin Lim. The overall effect is rain falling, cascading down and evaporating into the clouds to cycle again. It's so pretty! Along the plaza are educational displays from the SCV water Agency, highlighting the importance water has in our lives. It does INDEED resemble what we in the SFV see on the "other side" of these hills, as the aqueduct flows into our valley. I may not attempt this staircase walk anytime soon, but we did enjoy walking the forged trail around the park and seeing all the people - and lots of free parking! - utilizing this space. Signs are posted to remind you to watch for rattlesnakes, so hike with care. Cheers! "CC"
