Each floor is laid out perfectly, with childrens books on ground, adult fiction on first and reference books on second, and lower ground, also holding a huge computer area for internet access. It has plenty of toilets, a coffee machine, and is really accessable for disabled users. A Wide array of books, music and dvd's makes it a nice place to visit. Having the childrens library away from the other sections, reduces the amount of interruptions you may get, and leaves the other floors peaceful and relaxing. There are loads of study tables on the second floor, and plenty of plug sockets for laptops etc. Staff are friendly, and willing to help with any questions, and will order in anything that they may not have. Overall, this is a brilliant Library, which since it's overhaul, I visit on a frequent basis. Tis just what a library should be.

The first one is that it's got a far more pleasant atmosphere, and it doesn't get nearly as hot in here as the main Harrow branch! Everything is on one floor, with a decent children's area. The reservations are now handled by automated touch screens, although there are still staff nearby if you need them. Of particular note is the excellent biography section, and the well stocked cookery shelves as well. I've found them to ha e some surprisingly new and high end cookbooks in there.

Even when bookstores are crowded and full of energy, they still carry that classic charm that reminds you of how real bookstores used to feel before everything became generic. As a history buff, avid reader, and past library fundraiser, there is no way I could skip a visit…read moreto the British Library. We enjoyed roaming the floors during an unexpected rain shower, and enjoyed all the historical tomes exhibited here. We did not sign up for cards, and therefor did not get to explore the rooms or stacks, but we did enjoy our walk around. During college (as a history major), it was frequently joked that you haven't really researched in a library if you haven't wound up making out in the stacks... well, after a day of research, I enjoyed some fun pictures and 'making out' with my husband, making this a thoroughly educational stop in our London adventure.

If you plan on seeing any of the actual exhibits or checking out the areas that actually house the books, you'll need to sign up for one of their cards. I also can't really imagine getting much work or studying done here. It can be pretty difficult to find a seat and it's so loud and busy that you may be better off going somewhere else.

It's always a busy library but there is always help at hand when needed. There is a large childrens…read morelibrary, as well as a teenage fiction section. There is also a local history section,as well as a large amount of CDs and DVDs on offer. There is a public toilet and recently they have acquired a coffee machine, as well as a self service black and white photocopier. They have about 10 computers;3 for the use of children or adults with children, a 15minute only computer, a half an hour computer with a scanner and hour long computers. Printouts can be done very cheaply. There are often activities such as Baby Bounce and Storytime which are popular events. At times this means the library can get noisy, but the staff are careful to ensure the relaxed atmosphere of the building doesn't mean the noise is too loud. There is an exhibition area at the front of the library which is often filled with local artwork.

This is a great little library right in the heart of South Harrow Shopping Centre and close to a…read morebus stop. There is a disabled access to the library and automatic doors. Just inside is the comfy area with armchairs. Here you can sit and read a newspaper or flick through one of the many books. It's possible to use the internet free of charge although you usually have to reserve a computer in advance . However , I have managed to walk in off the street and get to go on the internet in between users. Even though this is a small library it has a good selection of books including large print and audio books. The children section is delightful and offers a lovely selection. Best of all it's free of charge.
