Barham Antiques is an amazing find on the south end of Portobello Road. I wasn't even in the market for antiques, bypassing all the stalls in the Market the day before, but was lured in by all the gorgeousness inside when I walked past on a misty Sunday afternoon.
The selection of antiques was truly the most carefully curated collection I have ever seen. I wouldn't call myself an expert collector by any means, but this was the first antique store I've seen that made me want to clear the shelves. They have the most gorgeous collection of wooden boxes, clocks, and decanters. I did not even know I wanted a dainty dinner gong, but now I do.
I came away with a couple of small items - a close call thanks to my limited suitcase space. Otherwise, I would have gotten a little ambitious. The gentleman who helped me was so kind and helpful. It was a delight to chat with him.
For a lovely wedding gift, something to add character to your flat, or a special memory from your trip to London, you'll likely find something at Barham Antiques. I'll definitely make a point to go back anytime I'm in the area. read more
