They offered some nice amenities but really the best part was the ocean with beach across the street. The kids loved the playgrounds and the adults the barbecue! The beds were more comfortable than the Radisson Hotel in Sydney! Just make sure you lock your car and cabins at night for we saw some suspicious activity lurking in the shadows our first night getting settled; when questioned the young man asked for a ride into town (this was 1 AM) or "a jump." We said we would contact the police to send him some assistance at which point the gentleman disappeared rather quickly into the nigh. Hum! Enjoy your stay. Bring extra towels.

Food quality was good; however, the bacon and eggs were cold. No excuses for this really and I suspect they held some of the order on the line to bring all items to the table at the same time. I suggest this practice is not continued as being served cold food in a cafe is bad practice. Alternatively, invest in a good quality food warmer. Pricing was at the higher end of the scale and really not warranted based on serving size and basic nature of the dishes. Would I go back, no. I would definitely look at other local options before going back. I noted that the cafe across the street, 'Ricks' had a large number of patrons having breakfast at the same time where as Kacy's had a lot fewer customers. Now I understand why.

There's lots to like and lots to frustrate when staying at Manta…read more Likes - They are clean, modern apartments with all the bells and whistles. Good kitchen (with all of the implements). Comfortable rooms, flash bathroom, free wifi and Foxtel. Secure parking underneath, pleasant staff, really nice pool area. Like I said, lots to like. Frustrations - the apartments have huge expanses of glass and large doors so you can take in the views and ocean breezes. Unfortunately, they do not have screens. This is a must when you are in Queensland for most of the year if you don't want to be invaded by mossies and flies. Our choice was to have the door open to enjoy the sea breeze & bugs or, close the door and sit in the aircon. A screen would have fixed this. Our room also had a door (rather than window) leading on to the porch. This meant at night we had to keep it locked and again rely on aircon to ventilate the room. I know people are in love with aircon but I prefer to sleep with fresh air unless it's really hot. My other bug bear were the blinds/curtains. They are modern floor to ceiling blinds which you need to have pulled up if you want any ventilation through the doors or want to walk outside. If they are pulled down for privacy or protect you from the western sun, they bang and clang if the door is open. Blinds that slide to the side could have also remedied this issue. The above are minor problems and we only stayed a weekend but this would drive me barmy over a week's holiday. Sure, the place looks sleek and 'designer' but it's not really designed for real life. If you can live with the above, it's a great location.
