I didn't really like Tara or Samantha's classes; I somehow felt they either didn't have much experience, or just didn't know how to plan a lesson well, or how much to talk or what to correct in students' postures. I was randomly poked super hard in the ribs for no reason. What the hell. I liked Farida's class though. She seemed sincere, kind and knowledgeable and I wish she'd set up her own studio so she could teach me every day. Also - the intersection by the studio is somewhat dangerous, and there's not much parking, so it's better to come from and park in the back. And - there were dog hairs all over the yoga mats provided, so I'd bring your own if you have one. Oh yeah - unless you want to smell old men's cologne for 48 hours after your lesson, despite taking showers and scrubbing, don't get the massage oil rubbed into your 'third eye' and temples. Ew. I hope they get a new brand or something.

Back over 15 years ago, I started Jillian Michaels' videos and I've been pretty fanatical about her style/method throughout the years. Less than a year ago, we relocated to the Bryant area and I had heard about this gym from some coworkers. This past April I decided to give it a try, and what a GREAT decision that turned out to be!! Although, I had worked out consistently for 5-6 days/week over the years, most of my workouts were the Jillian or Autumn Calabrese Beachbody videos. Most of these workouts were only 30 minute long videos (a few were an hour), and turns out that I just THOUGHT I had been working out. McClure has taken my fitness journey to a whole other level!! The first few months kicked my butt, but in the best way possible!! I got so much stronger than I ever even thought possible and am now in the best shape that I've EVER been in before at 35 years old. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet challenging--and it's a total "no excuses" vibe which I love!! Need modifications? The instructors would be more than happy to provide them. Since I always did the workout videos in my living room, I considered myself a lone wolf exerciser and wasn't sure how I'd like the group environment. It's awesome!! There's a total supportive atmosphere to so many people giving it their all on the gym floor together. Definitely strength in numbers & an accountability factor. Sometimes, I try to feed off of competitiveness, as well, like trying to be as fast as this person or that. It really pushes me compared to my old school living room workout videos. My advice to anyone seeking a place to workout is to give it a try. I suggest trying more than one class because the classes that are offered are so diverse and versatile. Don't make your judgment on one visit. When I started, I got a punch card for 10 classes and tried numerous classes to hit on instructors who matched the style/intensity that I was looking for. I feel like that's a good route to go because they all have different things to offer. Also, the owner of the gym definitely "practices what she preaches" and for me that is so important. She's always been welcoming and happy to help with any question I've had during this process. For once in my life, I actually LOOK like someone who works out 5-6 days/week and, no doubt, that is 100% due to McClure!!

Great concept and for the most part it is carried out well here. My 2 requests for improvement are: Allow level one classes to incorporate some work with chair, boso ball at least. Some instructors are good at varying the routine but others use the same routine each class especially level one. There is an over emphasis on bridging in the floor or on the reformer neither of which is a good position for people that don't have the limb length to get good extension. Some instructors have you working at the bar or floor for 60-70% of the class (Reformer flow). There are a lot of things we are not using that could be incorporated --stretch bands, foam roller etc.
