Location location location- without the high-end prices. this hotel has everything you could hope for including a short walk to John's Pass and the boardwalk. A beach front location with a new pool, toddler's wading pool and Jacuzzi. The front desk clerk, Amanda was extremely sweet and accommodating. A small political rally was hosted down the beach the day we arrived. fun

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at this hotel. We did a lot of research before booking and ultimately picked this place based on the price and overall good reviews. We were pleasantly surprised from the start. The area at which it's located is very nice. Within walking distance to John's Pass (under .25 mile), many restaurants and shops. Around 1:30pm I called to see if our room was ready early and it was! Not a ton of parking, but you do get a free parking pass for your stay. We never had an issue finding a spot. We booked a beachfront room (I'd totally recommend the upgrade) and the view was breathtaking! Exactly as I'd hoped. We were on the top floor (room 411). The room was a nice size. I wouldn't say it was the fanciest room I've ever stayed in, but everything was clean and in its place. The manager did mention that they plan on renovating all rooms in the future. The kitchenette was a nice bonus (mini fridge, microwave, sink, utensils, cups, & plates). Maid service was done a little differently here. The maids didn't actually go into your room. Every morning you set out your dirty towels at your door which they replaced with clean ones and a check off list of things you might need (toilet paper, paper towels, etc). Everything was promptly delivered at 9:30am. On the 2nd floor there are 2 washers and 2 dryers. $2 each. Make sure to bring your own detergent. An ice machine is on this floor as well. You're right on the beach so getting to the ocean is just steps away from your room. Not very busy at all since there aren't any high rises competing for beach space. A nice surprise was that the hotel provided beach chairs, boogie boards, a couple umbrellas, sand toys, etc. All first come, first serve, but there were always plenty available during our stay. The pool was even better than expected. A decent size pool, hot tub, and a very shallow separate pool which would be great for kids. Lots of available chairs and a couple cabanas that you can rent. Lets talk about the renovations. Yes, they are building a huge new building behind what they have currently. Yes, there was construction noise during the weekdays. Did it bother us? Not really. I can't say we didn't notice it at times, but unless you decide to stay in your room or at the pool the entire day, it's really not a big deal. Construction should be done by fall. You can't knock the hotel for wanting to better their space! Even if you did stay at the pool the whole day while construction was going on, a lot of it was drowned out by the fountains around the pool and their music that was playing. The only con I can think of was the bed. I got used to it, but it was quite firm for my liking. I'd hope those get included in the renovations. Not really a con as I didn't care that much, but the hot tub was really just a warm tub...not much warmer than the pool. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be this way as it was warm enough outside or if it wasn't working properly. We walked to Lisa's Cafe which was a nice place for breakfast. The Candy Kitchen had ice cream and yummy treats. Sweet Brewnette's had THE BEST coffee. Castaway Taco Bar has great margaritas & tacos. We splurged one night and drove to Salt Rock Grill which did not disappoint. A no frills kind of hotel...clean and great location. I would definitely recommend this place!

Decided we needed a little staycation on the beach and since I had an old groupon from here figured why not. When I called to make the reservation I mentioned I had an expired coupon but the paid value should still be good. "No problem" was their response and I got my beachfront studio suite without any hassle whatsoever. Check in was smooth, The desk clerks were super nice and helpful. They give you beach towels at check in as well as a parking pass. There are lots of rules at this property ($25 for lost key, $25 for lock out, no smoking on balconies, pool towels need to be signed for, zero noise tolerance policy) all put in place for the comfort of their guests and I didn't mind a one of them The room was very nice, large comfy bed, separate living room area (divided by a knee wall) gorgeous view of the beach, a kitchenette with frig, microwave , plenty of plates and glasses. The bathroom was standard but everything worked fine. There is a lot of noise through the doors, I could hear the road even with my door shut and being on the back (beach) side of the building. It did not however bother me at night once the traffic slowed down. With every amenity you could want, the gorgeous view, the nice beach area and the proximity to lots of great restaurants and bars, I'd come back here. Never in tourist season of course, lol, but I'd come back here!

Upon pulling up to the Barefoot Beach Hotel, I knew my stay was going to be amazing. The building is clean and easy to locate, with plenty of parking. Casey and Aaron -employees- offered us a room in their new building, which made our stay even more incredible. The room was immaculate and felt like a vacationers paradise; washer/dryer, full kitchen, huge bathrooms, and a beautiful balcony! Our view was picture perfect and we were steps away from a relaxing pool or a beautiful sunset. We loved this hotel because it is a 2 minute walk from the inlet and a large boardwalk with restaurants, bars, and shops. I will definitely be returning and recommend it to others!

Unfortunately, the noise level significantly impacted our stay. We were in Room 28, and directly behind the room is a hallway used by staff from the upstairs bar. Throughout the first night, we heard a heavy door repeatedly slamming and staff using rolling carts to transport trash. The noise continued until about 3:00 a.m., making it very difficult to sleep. The next morning, I expressed my concerns to the front desk. He was polite, apologized, and said he would pass the information along. However, the noise resumed again the following night. Around 11:30 p.m., I stepped into the hallway and observed someone pulling trash on one of the carts; they did not appear interested in engaging when I tried to address it. Closer to midnight, after another loud door slam, I spoke with a different staff member who was very receptive and respectful. After that conversation, the noise level did decrease. I understand that hotel operations continue behind the scenes, but for a property positioned as an upscale boutique experience, I would expect better late-night noise control -- especially in rooms directly adjacent to service areas. The hotel has a lot of potential, and the cleanliness was excellent. However, due to the repeated overnight noise disruption, I would be hesitant to stay in that location of the property again.

After staying here, I just cannot understand how this Hotel got good ratings. You can see the pics below to see what we stayed in. Upon arrival, there was bacon on the counter, the stove was NEVER cleaned. The toilet had brown crude inside and brown drips out. The fire sprinkler, overhead, was filled with gunk and dust...hopefully it would work if need be. The door to get out onto the balcony constantly stuck and I had to muscle the heck out of it to get it to open. The toaster was filthy & there were dead bugs on the ceiling. I tried to book elsewhere, but everything was full. I tried to relax, but could not because I knew what was around me. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable...and I stayed out of the room all of the time. The Coffee Pot popped the room breaker twice...and when the 2nd maintenance man came in (the 1st one didn't even know where the circuit breaker was), it actually sparked. He replaced the coffee pot with one that was covered in dust and dirt...I didn't use it. Did anyone EVER teach these people how to clean. The pics prove to me that they do not care about the rooms. There were many more things than presented here, dust on everthing, carpets not vacuumed - - but I just cannot waste anymore time on this. Each time I went to the front des, I was not even greeted, and the people behind the desk did not really seem to care...and why should I have to complain. This room should have been clean for me. I also asked if we could have a room near the end of the hallway, closer to the ocean, but I was told that nothing could be done because the room had already been assigned. This was the same situation last year as well. Saint Pete Beach is beautiful, and although there aren't many nice brand-name hotels in the area, we choose Hilton because it's pet-friendly. There's hardly a lobby, just a small front desk but if you have a car you park under the building and walk in through the back. It feels very wrong and is definitely an odd setup. However, the hotel is very clean and well-kept overall. The room was nice, if not setup a bit strangely as we had a 2-bed suite that had the longest hallway I've ever seen in a hotel, just to get to the kitchen. The view on the balcony is incredible, of course, but I wasn't overly impressed otherwise. They have a pool but it's pretty small and gets crowded fast. If you don't get seats at the pool early in the morning you might not be able to find some later, especially if you stay over a weekend. There is a private access path to the beach but I clocked that it is at least .3 miles from the hotel to the beach- you walk far less just parking at public access. They have a small bar where you can get select drinks and a few food items. But it's not much- you are relatively on your own in that regard otherwise. The rooms do have a kitchen but I know the majority of people don't want to cook while on vacation. You also can't really ask for a variety of drinks from the bar- we asked for one not on the menu and one sweet bartender was going to help us figure it out until her manager, a blonde lady, made a huge fuss over it not being on the menu. It was very unsavory how she acted and even other guests at the bar during my that time noticed how uncomfortable it was. This woman was also just not real friendly working at the front desk while we were there either. The maintenance guys were great and keep everything in great shape- mopping the pool area every morning, making sure the path is nailed down and everything is in order. They are also very strict about parking- each room gets one car to park onsite and they send emails pit about it nearly every night. It seems really inefficient and like there has to be a better way to system that. Overall we had a good stay but I don't think I'd come back.
