The staff are very Friendly & helpful, they are very efficient and are never phased when you turn up with 10 Ebay packages to post! Early mornings can be busy especially Thursdays which must be pension/benefit day as the queue seems to be crazy and best avoided. There is absolutely no parking outside the post office, the closest parking is on Palatine or outside Tesco on Central Drive, it's not very handy.

The member of staff wasn't especially helpful when I visited though as he was more interested in his conversation with someone else at the time and he let me struggle lifting my heavy basket on to the counter. The ballroom is an excellent venue, huge, with an absolutely excellent ceiling. The bar is reasonably priced, with food behind the bar too, in all our ballgown finery, we opted for footlong hot dogs, chocolate eclairs and cakes, and I have to say, they were pretty damn lovely, far better than I expected. The staff were lovely, and it was all terribly well organised. They'd also given space at the back for stalls. The stage was an excellent setting, truly lovely and grand. I'll be going for the same event this year, and I'll look forward to enjoying it and it's setting just as much.

We asked for a refund after waiting over an hour to get it. Despite several calls and assurances that the funds would soon be back with us today the phone line has been removed contact is now only by email. The website has been updated to say regardless of the reason no refunds will be issued. Totally disgusted what appalling service . The tower had a special place in our heart but it appears now it is owned by the council they are just another government rip off

There are also lovely large gardens for a walk with little surprises appearing from time to time. The guides are all so friendly and helpful and to get the most from the trip find a question to ask in every room - even if it is simply so what is particularly special about this room - it is then that you hear all the little funny interesting stories of the house.
