I wasted a whole lunchbreak in here once because they really didn't know what they were doing. The staff were polite and apologetic enough (well, the ones I dealt with were but another guy appeared to be at the blunt end of some personal banker's bad mood) but they were just pretty useless in helping me. I wanted to transfer some money to a friend who banks with the Co-op. I'd paid him before and I was paying £600 cash into my Barclays account and wanted to then transfer £30 to him. I had my details and his details but no ID. The first woman said I could do it, then said I'd need to pay more money into mine, then said I'd need to go to his bank, then said I'd need ID, then said I would have to do it at the Post Office. It was all a bit of a farce and I never got it sorted, instead resorting to Internet banking. If you want something done, do it yourself hey? read more
