As we are going to Iceland, we figured that warm clothes would be a plus, and were more than happy to pay upto £50 for warm trousers as this is roughly what we've seen so far, so imagine our surprise and happiness when we realised they were all priced at £10!! We came out of the shop with £190 worth of trousers for £30 which was incredible. And they're a really good make. Will definitely be making another trip before we go away as who knows what other bargains we might pick up I also like that the shop is just by one of the railing openings so you can get straight back onto the car park.

Regatta and Craghoppers, two massive names in the outdoor survival game! This shop sells a lot of their stock at at least 20% cheaper than the main branch stores, sometimes 70% cheaper if it's their sale! They stock everything from gore-tex jackets and ponchos, to walking boots and wellingtons. They stock a range of tents, camping stoves and camping chairs, as well as waterproofs and rain hats for your festival days or just for a family camping trip. This place is definitely worth whizzing around before you shell out on similar items on the high street. this is simply because their stock is of the highest quality and you might as well save yourself a few quid and have a good look around the 140+ surrounding shops whilst you're here!

It hasn't and I am stuck with a coat that I have to "Step" into sometimes, as I can't zip it any other way most of the time. Apart from that disappointment, the coat is lovely and warm, and perfect for really cold/wet weather.

Having recently become a user of North Face products with my new jacket, I decided to call in the store on my recent visit to Cheshire Oaks to take a look at the new products they have and of course look at the price of my coat to see if it had been reduced from the £160 it was when I previously bought it, albeit it was 10% cheaper than that price at House Of Fraser, hence that is where I bought it from. The staff didn't seem too welcoming or friendly which was a shame, and the overall product selection wasn't great, for example I didn't find many new products which stood out to me, or the coat I wanted to check the price of to see if it had decreased and if they had made any changes to it, or improvements. The overall store feel was okay, it wasn't overly impressive and it certainly wasn't among the best North Face branches I have visited, which are normally low in number anyway, yet there are branches in the likes of Manchester's Trafford Centre and the Liverpool One. Due to limited selection of products, poor service and other factors mentioned, I'm sadly struggling to warrant this store deserving anything over a single one-star rating.

They have great sales, the people are knowledgeable (although the guys in the climbing section can be a bit arrogant) and the stock is good, high quality stuff. In other words, the opposite end of the spectrum to Blacks or Millets. Come here if you need to buy a waterproof jacket, walking boots or maps. There's a cafe upstairs too, which is very popular on wet days with walkers and climbers. It's ok, but nothing to write home about.

Very often specialist shops can have staff that think they are über cool for working there - not here, eager to help without being intrusive, and they chat to you about the product without trying to get you to buy - which is great - they provide the info and let you come to your own decision. This doesn't seem to be an exclusive to the Birmingham store - the Manchester one is similar. I'd thoroughly reccomend 10/10.
