Timpson is a household name across the country, known for doing all sorts of novelty tasks including watch and shoe repair, dry-cleaning and key cutting, however, another thing they do is cutting hair, this location styled "Barbershop by Timpson" does just that.
In true Timpson style, it's located in a kiosk just outside Sainsbury's in Cheadle, also right next to John Lewis, making it an ideal place to grab a haircut while shopping at one of the two large retailers.
The interior is pretty modern, although due to the size, it would certainly be uncomfortable if multiple people were waiting.
No appointments. Again, this is annoying at peak times. I like to make an appointment ahead of time, so I know that I will be seen without having to wait for too long. Only one barber was working during my visit, I was the only customer so this didn't affect me waiting too much on my occasion.
The prices here are pretty good value, a standard men's dry cut is only £15, which I found to be good value, considering it is located in a reasonably affluent area. I have paid more before in Manchester city centre and even in Bolton.
My barber, Chris, did a good job with my cut and he was also friendly. We shared a joke that he was building a human body after he almost caught my eye with a comb as he previously told me about him cutting a child's ear with blood everywhere!
I do think extending their online presence - beyond just a basic website would do wonders. At the moment, there is no way to make appointments online, or even view their prices. I felt like I was going in blind.

3* - It's a good barbers sure, but the lack of appointments especially with the unit being so small is a huge negative and would put me off visiting in the future unless you are specifically visiting John Lewis and Sainsbury's, you would have to go out of your way to come here, it isn't somewhere you can pass while in town, hoping to come in if the seat is empty. read more
