My husband goes here and has gotten different styles for a great price. He does an excellent kids haircut too! Our neighbors kids head over here for back-to-school and throughout the year. (The business card says "The Barber Shoppe," so I hope Howie is ok...) At any rate, I went to the aforementioned barber shop and was greeted by some nice people!!! I was also amazed by the shop itself; the place was laid out like the shop I used to get my hair cut when I was a kid on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Plus, there were many shelves along the walls filled with die-cast models of '55, '56 & '57 Chevys - cars and trucks. There were a couple GMCs, too! In the magazine rack were a couple hard-cover books about Mid-Fifties Chevrolets. Being an old gearhead and former car mechanic (among other auto-related occupations) I felt at home straight away! I was told my wait would be about 20 minutes, which was fine with me because it afforded me time to pour over the books in the magazine rack. When it was my turn I was greeted by a barber named Todd a gentleman with 33 years experience. We got into a conversation and I mentioned that I'm a musician and Todd told me that he is a drummer!!! I'll tell you if Todd plays drums like he cuts hair, he could walk into any venue and make the rhythm section shine. I got a fantastic haircut for a reasonable price that actually looked good on my misshaped head. (poor attempt at humor) sorry, I don't want to diminish the quality of the haircut I received - Todd is a skilled craftsman and good guy!! Everyone at The Barber Shoppe is nice and the prices are reasonable. The Barber Shoppe will be my 'Go-To' place from now on!!

A place people would go to very regularly and everyone knows your name. Todd was very good at what he did and he used a straight razor on my neckline. I've never had anyone do that. Stroh's is a great place to get a haircut. I can't believe I had never gone there before…read more I used to go to Gina's for years. That day I called two separate times for an appointment but no answer. As a loyal customer I drove there, walked in and she was cutting someone's hair and wouldn't even acknowledge me standing there. So, I asked if she could get me in as the sign on the door states, "Walk ins". She gave out a sigh, shuffled over to the desk, checked her appointment book and said "no". Just "no". I walked out the door for the last time. I am unbelievably glad I noticed the sign for Stroh's while driving through town. I went back there and enjoyed a MANS haircut in a MANS barber shop. DISCAIMER: That's not to say women wouldn't enjoy the place too. Stroh's now has a new and loyal customer. The feel of the "old barbershop" was nostalgic! Enjoyed the military memorabilia too as my father and I both spent some time at Fort McCoy in uniform.
