I really liked getting my hair cut here, it's very clean inside and the staff are great and very experienced. I sat with Liz and she did a great job. I really liked the vibe inside it was comfortable and not to mention getting a straight razor shave felt amazing. Made me feel as I was in an old school barber shop. read more

I have a teenage son who has the tendency to postpone haircuts because of so many bad ones elsewhere. Then we found Barber 281, made an appointment with Reyna, and he's changed his tune! He texted me, "I love this place. She listened to all my concerns and was very polite." He looks great ... the best haircut in a long time! Thank you, Reyna! read more

I visited Barber 281 and it was my third time trying to find a local barber, guess third times the charm as Kay was able to give me a fade cut like I've been wanting since moving here recently, price was great and the place is very nice and about 5 minutes from the house, thank you Kay! read more

Amazing shop! The staff is super friendly. Kim is the best barber ive ever had. The barbers are all independent contractors so they may give different services. And the cold beer is nice! read more

Love this place. Always leave with a great haircut from Adam. Would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Great place but just a bit pricey for me. Was offered a drink upon entering and the place is very nice inside. My barber was friendly and we had a great chat during my haircut which turned out great! It should have another $ put up there. read more

I made an appointment with Yvette. It was my first visit, so naturally, some anxiety lol. BUT Yvette was fantastic, she did a great tapered zero fade -- great attention to detail. She did a nice neck and head massage as well, with a warm face towel; really, really relaxing. She's super sweet, and easy to talk to. Highly recommend her! read more

Barber 281 - Barbers Near Me - Bulverde, Texas

Walk-ins, not welcome. Came in with my son, was stared at for a minute, asked if I was Trevor, then both stylists laughed when I said no I'm a walk in, and proceeded to tell me I can wait to see if women doesn't show up but they didn't have time today. Mind you, this is the first haircut my son and I are getting after 3 years of momma cuts. Thanks for making me feel so welcome, back to moms chair we go! read more

This place is amazing! I moved to San Antonio a couple of months ago and have been trying to find a good barber shop. My first stop was "High End Barbershop" in Stone Oak. I was not impressed with the atmosphere, my barber or the crazy price they charged for a dry haircut. I don't know anyone here so I'm having to go off of websites and reviews. I searched "barber shop" in my Maps app to see what was somewhat close to my house and Barber 281 popped up. They had good reviews and a nice menu of services. I called and Yvette answered the phone. She was able to get me in with her the same day. I am so happy I found this place. It's a very cozy, clean and welcoming atmosphere. I went with the Rangers haircut and I was blown away with what type of service I got for only $37. Yvette was very knowledgeable, experienced and extremely kind. She gave me a great hair cut with razor touch up, hair wash & conditioner, warm towel with two separate scalp massages, neck/shoulder massage, great moisturizer on the back of my neck and head AND even styled my hair! Barber 281 is my new barbershop and Yvette is the new barber for myself and my 12yr old son. Thanks for such a great experience and haircut! read more

There are not enough superlatives to describe the experience here. Yvette truly provided the best haircut experience imaginable. As someone in the customer experience industry, I can say that this experience would be hard to repeat in any setting, let alone a hair cut read more

My 14 year old son has been growing out his hair for six months and it was time for a serious cut! We tried out this place and were so pleased. Gaby did a wonderful job transforming his hair from a bushy mess to a well-groomed young man's cut! She was very patient with him and his indecision. We walked in without an appointment and they squeezed us in after a short wait. Highly recommend! read more

I rarely ever go to a barber, the wife cuts my hair. She is unable at this time so I had to find a barber...fast. I am used to the old style barber shops where the old retired Marine with hula girls tattooed on their forearms cut your hair and tell you dumb or dirty jokes. Well not really but you get the idea. This is a new experience for me, a salon thing, even though they say they are a barber shop. They have 4 chairs and the barbers/stylists? are all ladies. They also work with ladies hair. To me this is pretty fancy. They offer a lot of services, hot towels, scalp massage, and other things I forget at the moment. They even offered me a beer (or water). Apparently a beer has become expected. Who knew? They have different levels of services when you come in for a haircut and they all go upward in price. It's quite a bit more than what I am used to paying. The young lady that cut my hair, Adelaida, obviously knew her stuff. She took a lot of care with the mess I had on my head and ultimately did a great job. I have a feeling the wife will make me go there regularly it looked so good. read more

Yvette was amazing! Great cut and beard service, hot towel and a beer! I will be coming back every time I'm in the area!

Kristin did a fine job! I asked her to make my son's hair shorter and handsome-looking. She asked good follow up questions and viola! My son's hair looks awesome. Will go back again to see Kristin! read more

Great local barber shop and excellent service. Be sure to call first to make an appointment as this isn't a "walk-in" type of place. Coco (who now has a new regular customer) was very friendly, engaged in effortless conversation and took the time to ask me what I wanted and did just that. This is not a "Great Clips" nor does it pretend to be and that is a good thing. I intend to be a customer as long as the service remains consistent. They will also offer you beer and that is another good thing. Mmmm, beer. read more

We loved our experience at Barber 281! My husband gets his hair cut here and we took our son to get his first hair cut. Kim was awesome and so very patient with my son. She let him feel the electric razor which he loved. It was so cute to watch him look like a little man getting his hair cut. The facility had a very old Texas feel and was very clean. My husband loves going to get his hair cut here and he has tried many barbers around San Antonio. read more

Great place for a haircut. Friendly people, superb barbers! If you want a real, great haircut. This is the place to go.

This has been my place since it opened. Great service, friendly stylists, always a good experience. This is what other men's barbershops want to be, but can't seem to get there. read more

I will never go into this place again. Literally walked in with my kids to get there haircuts and sat there for an hr before of the the girls asked if we had an appointment. This was right @ 7 pm when I was asked or even acknowledged there. This barbershop is small and probably has the usual customers so your figure if you see new people you greet them and ask them if they have an appointment. Totally disappointed!!!!! read more
