Best agent ever! Marc and Barb are so friendly and helpful. Convenient location right in downtown duluth, just down the road from Starbucks. There are metered spots out front, and a parking ramp across the street. read more

After considering my latest billing of the car insurance I've had for years, I called my former,…read more(as of today), agency to tell them I wouldn't be renewing my policy with them. I called during their regular office hours. Have you ever called a doctor's office and gotten the menu to push numerous suggestions of buttons to push for your problem to be solved? That's what I was hearing. I left my message of not renewing my policy. After all the years of being with this local agency, having never met the owner, I think it was his voice going through the menu options. I called the DeSmet Agency on a Sunday afternoon, knowing they weren't open, but wanting a quote to see if I could do better with the exact same coverage. I left my message. The next morning, Monday, I received a call from Mr. Tim DeSmet, and we discussed my options. In less than an hour later, Mr. DeSmet called back with a quote. It's a good thing I was sitting down. With his diligence, Mr. DeSmet's quote would be saving me $538.40 a year!!! When I came into his office to start my policy with my new company, Mr. Tim DeSmet personally greeted me and shook my hand. Before this day, I was ignorant of knowing about DeSmet Agency because I blindly trusted an agency I thought was doing the best for me. I goofed but got wiser when that inflated car insurance bill arrived a couple of weeks ago. Why would anyone choose another agency?

I called 4 different services, and over the phone Gary quoted me the most reasonable cost, which was honored. Anyway, evidently they have 4 locations in Duluth, and I chose the W. Central location as the one that'd be most convenient for me. Sasha, the young man running that location, was a consummate professional, friendly and helpful, and I was very happy with the resulting federal refund (which I received in less than 2 weeks), as well as the security of knowing if there are any problems I can go back to them to get it fixed. I may buy a property later this year rather than continue to rent, and since evidently the owner, T.J., does financial advice, if I do need it I plan to utilize them again, as they have earned my trust based on the tax prep job they completed for me.
