To me a very dry martini is the perfect drink to showcase the flavors and complexities of a good quality gin. Instead I settled for a drink that tasted like a fizzy Italian basil lemonade with a shot of gin. It definitely tasted good and I did enjoy it -- but the truth is you could duplicate it perfectly with any bottom shelf grocery store gin from a plastic bottle and a few additional ingredients. The decor is unique with the bar located in a cave that probably served as a shelter during the war years. The volume of the music was set at that perfect level where it filled the room but you could still converse with the person sitting next to you. Stollen 1930 is worth a stop whether you like gin or not. Just don't expect to order a martini.

Great beer and the service was even better. I don't speak the language, and a bit insecure about it, but both bartenders who helped me were fluent in English and didn't make me feel awkward at all about my lack of language skills. I asked for their recommendations and they did not disappoint. If/when I ever stumble upon this town again, I'll head straight to this place.
