I'll admit I was surprised that a lounge boasting that it has world's largest collection of gin…read moredoes not make martinis. To me a very dry martini is the perfect drink to showcase the flavors and complexities of a good quality gin. Instead I settled for a drink that tasted like a fizzy Italian basil lemonade with a shot of gin. It definitely tasted good and I did enjoy it -- but the truth is you could duplicate it perfectly with any bottom shelf grocery store gin from a plastic bottle and a few additional ingredients. The decor is unique with the bar located in a cave that probably served as a shelter during the war years. The volume of the music was set at that perfect level where it filled the room but you could still converse with the person sitting next to you. Stollen 1930 is worth a stop whether you like gin or not. Just don't expect to order a martini.

I ordered the Mahogany Brown and absolutely loved it, the caramel rim was the perfect touch, almost like having a little dessert after dinner. I also tried my friends' cocktails, and each one was unique, creative, and perfectly balanced. One even arrived in a Chinese takeout box with a fortune cookie, which was such a fun surprise! Can't wait to come back and try more.

The music was an eclectic mix of pop, folk, alternative, and classic rock. The bar is Charles Darwin-themed with abundant evolution and Darwin paraphernalia around the bar. I tried the Balimero. The flavor was unusual but complex. Overall, I had a good experience at Darwin's and would recommend them for cocktails in Salzburg.

The decore was fun and on theme for the name. The drinks were very good and pretty ;) If you are in a hurry maybe this is not the spot for you but if you want a great drink and relaxed place to enjoy it definetly stop by!
